The SKF 33019 tapered roller bearing combines a 95 mm bore with Explorer performance specifications for combined radial and axial loads in demanding industrial applications.
The 33019 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing to standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), suitable for mechanical drives and shaft support. With key dimensions of 95 mm inner diameter, 145 mm outer diameter and 39 mm total width, the design accommodates both radial forces and axial forces from a single direction. As a complete tapered roller bearing, the unit comprises the inner ring with a set of rollers and the corresponding outer ring.
Due to its angular raceways, the bearing accommodates combined loads; however, it requires a mating bearing when used for axial guidance on one side only. Typical designs use paired mounting in an O or X arrangement to safely accommodate axial forces from both directions and guide the shaft precisely. Due to the line contact of the tapered rollers, the bearing can handle higher loads than comparable deep-groove ball bearings.
The SKF Explorer design is characterised by optimised raceway geometries and fine surfaces, which promote the formation of a stable lubricating film. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements precisely and is suitable for use in a temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As the bearing is of open design, the lubricant and housing seal can be selected to suit the specific application.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 95 mm, an outside diameter of 145 mm and a mounting width of 39 mm. These metric dimensions determine the required installation space on the shaft and within the bearing housing, and enable the bearing to accommodate combined forces.
Due to the tapered arrangement of the raceways, the single-row bearing accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces from one direction. To provide axial guidance for the shaft on both sides, designers usually fit a second bearing in a mirror-image position opposite the first to counteract the opposing forces.
SKF Explorer bearings are characterised by modified raceway profiles and refined surfaces. These modifications promote the formation of a stable lubricating film during operation, reduce friction peaks and thus contribute to improved operational reliability under load.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The dimensional stability of the bearing rings and the integrated sheet steel cage ensure that this temperature range is covered during operation, provided that the selected lubricant is suitable for this range.
This model has an open design and does not feature any integrated sealing washers. This means the bearing can be lubricated with either grease or oil. An external housing seal must be fitted to protect the interior of the bearing from contamination and lubricant loss.
P0, or ABEC 1, refers to the standard tolerance for dimensional, geometric and running accuracy in rolling bearings. It meets the requirements of most industrial machinery and drives without the need for tighter, specialised tolerances.
