The SKF 6322 deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 110 × 240 × 50 mm, can accommodate high radial and axial loads in both directions.
The 6322 deep-groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in an open design without integrated sealing washers. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, a sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements through the deep raceways of the inner and outer rings. The bearing is manufactured by SKF and complies with tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or ABEC 1). Thanks to its open design, external lubricant can reach the contact points between the rolling elements and raceways unhindered.
This rolling bearing is primarily used where heavy rotating shafts need to be supported. It primarily accommodates radial loads, but due to the deep raceway geometry, it also handles axial forces in both directions. Depending on the arrangement, the design can be used as a fixed or floating bearing. The open design requires a clean installation environment in which lubricating oil or grease is supplied via the surrounding housing system.
The open design without seals allows for use in systems with centralised circulating lubrication or regular lubricant changes. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. The integrated sheet steel cage is characterised by its low weight and guides the balls evenly during operation. As this bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance, it is suitable for installations with standard fits where there are no significant temperature gradients between the inner and outer rings.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 240 mm and a width of 50 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The open design, which does not feature any sealing or cover plates, allows lubricating oil or grease to be fed directly into the unit whilst it is in operation. At the same time, the absence of sealing lips reduces frictional resistance; however, this requires the housing environment to be sealed on site to protect against dirt and moisture.
The standard radial bearing clearance defines the design clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways prior to installation. It is matched to standard shaft and housing fits, so that once fitted, the bearing operates with the intended operating clearance.
The bearing rings and the rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material offers high wear resistance and dimensional stability under load. The integrated cage, which guides the balls, is made from pressed sheet steel.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees. Within this range, the standard roller bearing steel used retains its dimensional stability. When selecting the lubricant, care must be taken to ensure that it is suitable for the temperatures encountered.
The designation P0 (equivalent to PN or ABEC 1) refers to the standardised tolerance class for rolling bearings. It specifies the permissible dimensional and geometric deviations of the bore, the outer diameter and the concentricity for standardised industrial applications.
