The 6034-M deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, measuring 170 x 260 x 42 mm and featuring a brass cage, offers a durable solution for large-scale industrial bearings.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6034 -M is designed as an open bearing and is intended to accommodate primarily radial and axial loads in both directions. With an inner diameter of 170 mm, an outer diameter of 260 mm and a width of 42 mm, this model is one of the large-dimensioned rolling bearings designed for demanding machinery and plant engineering applications. Both the rings and the rolling elements are made from tried-and-tested standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, which ensures high dimensional stability under load.
The 6034-M deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in large industrial bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads and axial guiding forces. As the bearing is manufactured without integrated seals, it is primarily suitable for applications with an external lubrication supply, for example via a closed oil circuit or relubricatable grease chambers. The permissible temperature range extends from –20 to +150 degrees Celsius, enabling the bearing to operate stably even under conditions of increased operating heat.
The suffix ‘-M’ denotes the solid brass cage, which guides the rolling elements precisely along the raceway. Brass offers high mechanical stability and performs particularly well in applications involving vibrations or high acceleration forces. The bearing has a standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1). A clean bearing seat design is recommended for installation, as dirt particles could enter the open interior unhindered.
With an internal diameter of 170 mm, an external diameter of 260 mm and a width of 42 mm, the bearing has standardised main dimensions. The cylindrical outer ring is smooth, with no flange or groove. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when replacing bearings in existing housings and shaft seats.
The suffix -M denotes a solid brass cage. This cage material increases the mechanical stability of the roller guide during operation. This design is therefore particularly suitable for applications involving vibrations, shock loads or higher acceleration forces.
Open roller bearings have neither cover plates nor sealing plates. This design allows the lubricant – such as gear oil or externally supplied grease – to reach the raceways and balls unhindered. In such designs, protection against dirt and moisture is provided by the surrounding machine housing.
This version is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance (often designated as CN). This standard value describes the radial clearance between the outer ring, inner ring and balls when the bearing is unloaded. It is designed for standard fit conditions on the shaft and housing, as well as normal operating temperatures.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 roller bearing steel used and the brass cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. When selecting a lubricant, users should ensure that its thermal suitability also covers this range.
The dimensional and running accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which is equivalent to ABEC 1 in international classification. This standard tolerance meets the usual requirements in general mechanical engineering and ensures reliable fitting accuracy during assembly.
