The FAG 6017 deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 85 × 130 × 22 mm, offers reliable running characteristics for shaft mountings in mechanical and plant engineering.
The single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6017 primarily absorbs radial forces whilst also supporting axial loads in both directions. As an open design without sealing rings, this FAG rolling bearing model is particularly suitable for applications where lubricant is supplied directly via a housing or an oil circuit. The rings and rolling elements are made from tried-and-tested 100Cr6 bearing steel, which contributes to high dimensional stability under load.
The 6017 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in industrial shaft mountings that combine radial load-carrying capacity with moderate axial forces. Thanks to its 85 mm internal diameter and slim cross-sectional height, the bearing can be mounted on medium to large shafts in a space-saving manner. The open design generates minimal friction, making this component suitable for higher speeds in protected installation spaces.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements securely whilst maintaining a low weight. As the component has no contacting sealing lips, no additional frictional resistance occurs during operation. The bearing operates within a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. During installation, it is recommended that the housing be sealed externally and that lubrication be carried out thoroughly to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The dimensions are 85 mm bore diameter for the shaft seat, 130 mm outer diameter and 22 mm width. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has no flange or groove. These dimensions allow for compact integration into protected housing designs.
Open roller bearings have neither cover seals nor lip seals, allowing the lubricant to circulate freely between the inner and outer rings. This reduces frictional resistance and enables higher operating speeds. At the same time, this design means that protection against dirt and moisture is provided by the surrounding bearing housing.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unmounted. It is designed to ensure low-vibration and thermally stable concentricity at normal operating temperatures once the bearing has been pressed onto the shaft and fitted into the housing.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 material and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this range. When commissioning the unit, ensure that the selected grease or lubricating oil is suitable for the relevant temperature range.
This version is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0, which corresponds to the designation PN or ABEC 1. This standard precision meets the requirements of most industrial machine designs, provided that the cylindrical bearing seats on the shaft and housing are machined to the correct dimensions.
