The 16014 deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with dimensions of 70 × 110 × 13 mm, offers a narrow design for radial loads in space-constrained applications.
The 16014 deep-groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). The component features a sheet steel cage and is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees. Thanks to the flangeless cylindrical outer ring, the unit can be fitted directly into standardised housing bores. Designed as an open bearing, this version is particularly suitable for units with centralised circulating lubrication or a separate sealing concept.
This rolling bearing primarily absorbs radial forces, but also supports shafts under light axial loads in both directions. The extremely narrow width of just 13 mm with a shaft diameter of 70 mm makes the bearing ideal for applications with limited axial installation space. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in designs where an external seal is fitted and lubricating oil flows directly around the bearing.
The open design allows for unimpeded lubricant exchange, but requires protection against the ingress of dirt in the housing environment. With standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the model complies with the current industry standard for typical operating temperatures and standard fits. As no abrasive sealing washers are fitted, the component operates with low friction.
With an internal diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 13 mm, the bearing offers a narrow cross-section for compact shaft mountings.
The open design, which does not feature sealing discs, allows for direct lubrication via housing lubricants such as oil mist or immersion lubrication. At the same time, the absence of abrasive sealing lips minimises frictional resistance during rotation.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unassembled. This specification is suitable for typical operating temperatures without extreme thermal expansion of the shaft.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the balls.
The permissible range is between -20 and +150 degrees ambient temperature. The thermal stability of the lubricant used is the decisive factor in determining the actual operating limit.
