The SKF 61807 deep groove ball bearing, with its compact dimensions of 35 × 47 × 7 mm, offers a space-saving solution for light-duty and precision bearing applications.
The 61807 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in an exceptionally narrow design, with a bore diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 47 mm and a width of just 7 mm. Thanks to this extremely small cross-section, this bearing – made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6) – is particularly suitable for designs where radial installation space is limited. Manufactured by SKF to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this open bearing primarily withstands radial loads as well as moderate axial forces.
Design engineers use the 61807 deep groove ball bearing wherever a large shaft diameter needs to be combined with a small outer diameter and low weight. Typical applications include compact assemblies in mechanical engineering where small cross-sections are required. Thanks to its dimensionally stable sheet steel cage, the bearing guides the rolling elements precisely at constant speeds. As it is an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into the overall system using external lubricants.
As the 61807 model is designed without integrated sealing washers, you must ensure the supply of lubricant and protection against dirt via the surrounding housing. The bearing has standard radial clearance, which is designed for typical installation conditions with small temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Before assembly, check the cylindrical bearing seats to prevent deformation of the thin-walled outer ring.
With a bore of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 47 mm and a narrow width of 7 mm, the 61807 deep-groove ball bearing has a very small radial cross-section. This geometry is specifically designed for space-saving and lightweight constructions.
In an open design, the bearing has neither cover plates nor contact seals on the end faces. This allows lubricating oil or grease to reach the raceways and rolling elements unhindered. At the same time, this design requires an external housing seal to protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture.
The internal bearing clearance between the rolling elements and raceways is neither reduced nor increased, thereby compensating for minor thermal expansion during standard operation. Under standard fit conditions and operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius, this defined clearance ensures consistent concentricity.
Both the inner ring and the outer ring, as well as the rolling elements, are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material withstands mechanical compressive loads and offers high wear resistance. The balls are guided by a sheet steel cage, which keeps the moving masses to a minimum and ensures smooth running.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This tolerance class covers the standard dimensional and concentricity tolerances required for general machinery and equipment manufacturing and is compatible with standard-machined shaft and housing seats.
