The SKF NU2313 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row non-locating bearing with a 65 mm bore, 140 mm outer diameter and 48 mm width, designed for high radial loads.
The NU2313 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing in the SKF Explorer performance class. Its optimised internal design utilises cylindrical rollers in line contact to accommodate heavy radial loads. In this model, the outer ring guides the rollers via two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless inner ring remains removable from both sides. A lightweight polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees.
This bearing is primarily used as a pure support bearing in industrial shaft mountings. As the NU design compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly between the rollers and the inner ring, the construction prevents mechanical stress. It is used in applications where only high radial loads occur and axial guidance is provided by a separate fixed bearing on the shaft.
The inner ring, which can be removed from both sides, considerably facilitates the fitting of separate rings onto the shaft and housing. The polyamide cage reduces the moving mass within the bearing, dampens vibrations and allows for a standard radial clearance for many standard fits. With dimensional accuracy to Class P0 or ABEC 1 and improved running accuracy to Class P6 or ABEC 3, this design contributes to smooth running within the specified temperature range.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. These dimensions provide a stable foundation for withstanding high radial loads.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be withdrawn from both sides, which compensates for thermally induced changes in the shaft’s length within the bearing without causing stress, and enables the two bearing rings to be fitted separately.
The polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and the elastic properties of the material. It guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and dampens vibrations during operation. The permissible temperature range for this cage material in continuous operation is from -30 to +120 degrees.
Open cylindrical roller bearings do not have integrated sealing washers. This design allows lubricating oil or grease to flow freely from the surrounding housing structure. Protection against contaminants and moisture is provided entirely by external housing seals fitted to the machine.
The bearing has the standard radial clearance for common shaft and housing fits. The dimensional accuracy of the external dimensions complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, whilst the concentricity accuracy complies with the higher tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3.
No, a NU-type cylindrical roller bearing is used exclusively as a floating bearing for transmitting radial forces. As the inner ring has no lateral retaining flanges, the component cannot accommodate any axial forces. The shaft must be axially fixed by means of an additional fixed bearing.
