The SKF NU2307 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row non-locating bearing with a 35 mm bore, a polyamide cage and an inner ring that can be removed from either side.
As a single-row roller bearing, the SKF NU2307 ECP cylindrical roller bearing can accommodate high radial loads. Thanks to the NU design, which features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring, this version functions purely as a non-locating bearing. The bearing compensates for axial shaft movement directly inside the bearing. With key dimensions of a 35 mm bore, 80 mm outer diameter and 31 mm width, the SKF Explorer design is suitable for demanding industrial applications in mechanical engineering.
Design engineers primarily use the NU2307 ECP cylindrical roller bearing where high radial loads are present and axial thermal expansion of the shaft needs to be compensated for. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the rolling bearing can be fitted separately. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads, as well as general mechanical engineering. The optimised internal design of the Explorer series ensures even load distribution across the raceways and reduces heat build-up during operation.
The letter P in the ECP suffix stands for a polyamide cage that guides the cylindrical rollers. This material reduces the weight of the roller guide and ensures smooth running with low friction. The open bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As there are no integrated seals, you should incorporate the lubrication supply via the housing system and adapt the sealing to the specific operating environment.
With a bore diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 80 mm and a width of 31 mm, this design complies with standardised mounting dimensions. It is a single-row roller bearing without a groove or lubrication bore on the outer ring. These dimensions enable a precise fit when mounted on suitable shafts and in matching housing bores in industrial mechanical engineering.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the unit to function as a non-locating bearing. The inner ring can be removed from either side, thereby compensating for axial shaft displacement without the need for forcing forces. Furthermore, this ability to be dismantled facilitates the separate installation and removal of the shaft and housing.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. The radial clearance determines the radial play between the rollers and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. This standard radial clearance is suitable for standard operating conditions and typical fit selections on the shaft and housing, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
This design combines dimensional accuracy class P0 or PN (equivalent to ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). Whilst the external dimensions comply with standard tolerances, the tighter tolerance class for concentricity ensures smoother running and consistent guidance when the shaft is rotating.
Lubricant is supplied via the surrounding machine housing, as no factory-fitted sealing washers are incorporated. Depending on the system design, lubrication is carried out using grease or oil. To prevent contamination and lubricant loss, the bearing housing must be fitted with suitable external seals.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage fitted. To ensure reliable operation, care must be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant and the external housing seal are also suitable for the prevailing operating temperatures.
