The FAG NJ322 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing combines a 110 mm bore with a brass cage for high radial loads and single-sided axial support.
The FAG NJ322 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial drives. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. As a result, the bearing can accommodate very high radial forces and also guides the shaft in an axial direction. With dimensions of a 110 mm bore, 240 mm outer diameter and 50 mm width, it serves as a robust machine component under continuous loads.
Design engineers primarily use this design where strong radial forces occur and thermal linear expansion of the shaft needs to be compensated for. As the bearing acts as a support bearing, it allows axial displacement in one direction whilst providing support in the opposite direction. Typical areas of application include industrial applications and gearboxes subject to combined radial and single-sided axial loads. The solid brass cage withstands even severe vibrations and high acceleration forces during continuous operation.
The inner ring of the bearing can be removed from one side. This feature facilitates the separate installation of the inner and outer rings in the case of separate bearing seats. The open bearing without sealing washers is designed for external lubrication systems such as oil bath or centralised lubrication and covers a temperature range from -30 to +150 degrees. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore, which is why the lubricant should be supplied from the side.
The designation NJ indicates two solid flanges on the outer ring and one solid flange on the inner ring. This enables the unit to function as a thrust bearing. It absorbs high radial forces and guides the shaft in one axial direction, whilst allowing axial displacement in the other direction.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 110 mm, an outside diameter of 240 mm and a width across flats of 50 mm. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and has a standard radial clearance.
The brass cage, identified by the suffix M1, guides the cylindrical rollers and keeps them at a distance from one another. The solid brass cage is characterised by its high resistance to vibrations, impacts and centrifugal forces.
This open cylindrical roller bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. The actual operating limit during service depends not only on the bearing material but also on the thermal stability of the lubricant used.
As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, lubrication is provided by the surrounding system, for example by lubricating oil or grease. As the outer ring has neither a lubrication groove nor lubrication holes, the lubricant must be applied from the end face.
Yes, the inner ring can be removed from one side. This makes it possible to fit the inner ring onto the shaft separately and to fit the outer ring, together with the roller set, into the housing. This makes handling heavier components easier.
