The FAG N324 -E-M1 single-row cylindrical roller bearing offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a non-locating bearing, with dimensions of 120 x 260 x 55 mm.
The N324 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a radial rolling bearing designed for heavy industrial loads. With a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 260 mm and a width of 55 mm, the bearing can withstand high radial forces. This design is from FAG and features a solid brass cage that precisely guides the cylindrical rollers. As an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems.
This rolling bearing is primarily used where purely radial loads occur and shaft elongation needs to be compensated for. Due to its N design, the inner ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless outer ring can be removed from both sides. Designs with varying operating temperatures utilise this feature to accommodate thermal linear expansion of the shaft without constraint within the bearing housing.
The brass cage ensures stable guidance of the rollers even under acceleration or vibration. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, protection against contamination is determined by the lubricant and the housing seal. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0, it is suitable for standardised installation conditions in mechanical engineering.
The N design denotes single-row cylindrical roller bearings in which the inner ring has two fixed guide flanges and the outer ring is flangeless. This allows the outer ring to be removed from both sides. The bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing and compensates for axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing within the bearing.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 120 mm, an external diameter of 260 mm and a width of 55 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into housing bores and onto corresponding shaft seats.
The brass cage maintains a uniform spacing between the cylindrical rolling elements and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. Brass is characterised by high strength and its ability to continue operating under extreme conditions. This proves particularly advantageous in the event of shock loads, rapid changes in speed and higher operating temperatures.
The bearing is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. In addition to the rolling bearing steel, the actual operating limits during service are determined primarily by the lubricant selected and the external sealing elements of the surrounding structure.
Standard radial bearing clearance, often referred to as CN, describes the radial clearance between the rollers and raceways as specified by the manufacturer when the bearing is in its unassembled state. It is designed to suit standard fit selections for shafts and housings, as well as normal operating temperatures, ensuring flawless concentricity during operation without excessive preload.
As the bearing is supplied without factory-fitted sealing washers, lubrication is provided via the machine’s surrounding structure. Depending on operational requirements, either lubricating oil or grease can be used. The open design also makes it easier to flush out the lubricant and refill the bearing during regular maintenance intervals.
