The FAG NJ210 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row support bearing with a brass cage, combines a high radial load-carrying capacity with dimensions of 50 × 90 × 20 mm.
The NJ210 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG designed for high radial forces. As a support bearing, this design accommodates not only heavy radial loads but also axial forces from one direction. The open bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. A solid brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers and provides the bearing assembly with mechanical stability under demanding operating conditions.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used for high radial forces combined with single-sided axial guidance. As this is the NJ design, the inner ring has a single flange, whilst the outer ring has two flanges. This design guides the shaft in one axial direction but allows for compensation of thermal expansion in the opposite direction. The permissible temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees allows operation even under thermal influences.
The solid brass cage (designation M1) offers resistance to shocks and vibrations. Furthermore, the inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. As the bearing is of open design and the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, lubrication is provided via the surrounding housing structure. The component complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and has a standard radial bearing clearance.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit when mounted on shafts and in bearing housings of the corresponding nominal size. When designing the connecting components, the unilateral axial displacement of the NJ design must be taken into account.
An NJ-type cylindrical roller bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to act as a support bearing. It withstands high radial forces and also guides the shaft in the axial direction, whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction.
The brass cage keeps the individual cylindrical rollers spaced apart and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. The M1 version is made of brass, which gives the cage stability under mechanical vibrations and thermal stress. This makes the bearing suitable for mechanically demanding industrial applications.
This roller bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. In addition to the bearing rings and the brass cage, the thermal properties of the selected lubricant are also a decisive factor in determining the actual operating limit. Grease or lubricating oil must be suitable for the respective operating temperature of the bearing location.
As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant enters the roller set from the outside. Lubrication can be carried out using lubricating oil or grease. The bearing housing requires an external housing seal to prevent lubricant loss and the ingress of dirt particles.
The component is designed with standard radial bearing clearance, which corresponds to the standard class for general applications. In terms of dimensional and running accuracy, the bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 rating. This ensures consistent fit accuracy in industrial assembly processes.
