The FAG single-row tapered roller bearing 30306 (30 × 72 × 20.75 mm) can accommodate high radial and axial loads and features a sheet steel cage.
The FAG 30306 tapered roller bearing accommodates shafts with an internal diameter of 30 mm in housings with an external diameter of 72 mm. With a total width of 20.75 mm, this single-row roller bearing accommodates both radial and unilateral axial loads. The tapered arrangement of the rolling elements ensures line contact on the raceways, enabling the bearing to transmit high forces. You will receive a complete tapered roller bearing in a standard design, manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 for general mechanical and plant engineering.
This roller bearing is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial loads. Typical applications include the mounting of gearbox shafts and drive shafts subjected to combined loads. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by their design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, designers usually fit a second bearing in a mirror-image configuration opposite the first. This paired arrangement supports the shaft in both axial directions and allows for the precise adjustment of the operating clearance.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers evenly along the inner ring raceway and covers a permissible temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees. The metal cage construction withstands lubricants and impact loads in the operating environment. As this is an open design without abiding sealing discs, the bearing location requires external sealing within the housing. The open design allows for flexible lubrication with bearing grease or gear oil, depending on the specific operating conditions.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a total width of 20.75 mm. These metric dimensions allow for direct installation in appropriately sized housings and on suitable shaft seats.
Due to the inclined raceways, this design transmits both radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. The extended lines of action of the tapered rollers intersect at the axis of rotation, allowing the rollers to roll without kinematic forced slip and providing high rigidity.
Tapered roller bearings are not of a self-retaining design. The inner ring, together with the set of rollers and the cage, forms a single unit, whilst the outer ring can be fitted separately. This separate assembly makes it easier to press the bearing onto shafts and to fit it into housing bores.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing rings retain their dimensional stability and the steel cage retains its shape. When determining the operating temperature, the thermal load capacity of the lubricant used must always be taken into account.
Classification according to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 denotes the standard industrial tolerance. This class defines mandatory dimensional limits for bores, outside diameters and concentricity, which are designed for general mechanical engineering applications without any special requirements.
The product does not have any factory-fitted seals. To protect the bearing from dirt, water or dust and to prevent the loss of lubricant, the surrounding machine housing must be fitted with external components such as radial shaft seals, labyrinth seals or sealing caps.
