The FAG 30207 tapered roller bearing can withstand high radial and axial loads and has main dimensions of 35 x 72 x 18.25 mm.
The 30207 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in a standard design for demanding mechanical bearing arrangements. Due to the line contact of the tapered rolling elements, this roller bearing is suitable for combined loads where radial forces occur simultaneously with axial forces in one direction. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1). A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers along the raceway of the inner ring and maintains a uniform spacing between them.
Due to its design, this type of bearing can only accommodate axial forces in one direction. For this reason, in practice it is typically fitted in pairs in an O or X arrangement, mirroring a second bearing, to provide axial guidance for the shaft in both directions. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius, meaning the bearing component meets the thermal requirements of standard industrial applications.
The bearing is not self-retaining in design, which means that the inner ring, together with the roller cage, and the outer ring can be fitted separately. This design simplifies assembly procedures and maintenance work in enclosed housings. During installation, fitters set the desired operating clearance or a defined preload via the axially positioned mating bearing. For ongoing operation, a lubricant supply and an application-specific housing seal must be provided.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a total width of 18.25 mm. These main metric dimensions comply with the standardised 302 series and allow for a precise fit when replacing bearings in corresponding housing seats.
Thanks to the angled roller tracks, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads as well as axial forces from one direction. To accommodate axial loads from both directions, you must arrange two tapered roller bearings in pairs facing each other, for example in an X or O configuration.
P0 or PN refers to the conventional standard tolerance class for metric rolling bearings, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the Anglo-American region. It covers the standard requirements for dimensional, geometric and running accuracy in general mechanical engineering.
The version with a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within this range, the bearing rings and tapered rollers retain their dimensional stability. The actual usable range also depends on the grease or lubricating oil used.
In single-row tapered roller bearings, the bearing clearance is not a fixed manufacturing value, as the inner and outer rings are fitted separately. They only establish the operating clearance or the desired preload during installation, through axial contact with the second bearing in the housing.
This tapered roller bearing features a sheet steel cage. It maintains a uniform spacing between the tapered rollers and prevents the rolling elements from rubbing against one another, ensuring low-vibration operation and smooth guidance.
