The FAG 6413 open deep-groove ball bearing accommodates combined loads in mechanical engineering applications, with main dimensions of 65 × 160 × 37 mm.
The single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6413 from FAG primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, this component is characterised by dimensionally stable raceways and rolling elements. With a bore diameter of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, this design is suitable for heavy-duty shaft mountings. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly during operation.
The open roller bearing design allows direct contact with the surrounding lubricant, thereby eliminating friction losses associated with sliding seals.
Design engineers prefer to use this roller bearing in general mechanical engineering as well as in industrial applications involving combined loads. Thanks to its permissible temperature range of –20 to +150 degrees, the component is suitable for demanding thermal operating conditions. As the outer ring has no groove or flange, the bearing fits directly into smoothly bored housing bores. The standard radial clearance promotes uniform concentricity during normal operation.
The open design without integrated sealing washers allows for unimpeded lubricant exchange in oil or recirculating lubrication systems. Users can flexibly adjust the lubricant quantity and viscosity to suit the respective operating temperature. External housing seals or a clean installation environment help to minimise the ingress of contaminants into the rolling element area. With a tolerance class of P0 (ABEC 1), the bearing meets standard precision requirements in series machine manufacturing.
With an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These key dimensions allow it to be fitted onto cylindrical shafts and into precisely matched housing bores in mechanical engineering applications.
Open roller bearings do not generate frictional resistance due to abrading sealing lips and are therefore suitable for immersion lubrication, oil mist systems or operation in a closed gearbox oil bath. A prerequisite for their use is protection against external contamination provided by the surrounding machine housing.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard internal clearance between the balls and raceways when the bearing is unmounted. This clearance compensates for the typical interference fit when the bearing is pressed onto the shaft, as well as for thermal expansion at operating temperatures of up to +150 degrees.
Both the rings and the balls are made from standard 100Cr6 roller bearing steel. This material can withstand high contact pressures and retains its shape at temperatures between -20 and +150 degrees. The integrated cage is made from stamped sheet steel.
Manufactured to tolerance class P0 (corresponding to PN and ABEC 1), the roller bearing meets standard requirements for dimensional, geometric and concentricity accuracy. This classification adequately meets the requirements for standard industrial applications and standard drive shafts in practical use.
