The SKF 619/7 deep groove ball bearing is a compact, open rolling bearing measuring 7x17x5 mm, designed for space-saving shaft mountings.
The SKF 619/7 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing belonging to the thin-section bearing series and is designed to withstand radial and moderate axial loads. Thanks to its slim dimensions – with a 7 mm bore, 17 mm outer diameter and 5 mm width – the component is primarily used in precision mechanical designs and compact shaft guides. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6), the ball bearing offers a tried-and-tested material basis for industrial applications.
This bearing is particularly suitable for installation locations with very limited space, where low rotating masses and smooth running are required. Designs with small radial cross-sections benefit from the slim design. As the rolling elements are guided by a sheet steel cage, friction during operation remains low. Designers specifically use this design to reduce weight and minimise the required installation space in rotating systems.
The open design without integrated sealing washers offers the lowest rotational resistance, as no sliding seal presses against the inner ring. This enables high speeds and low-friction operation within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. However, the bearing location requires a clean installation environment or a housing-side seal to protect against dirt and moisture. Lubrication with oil or grease is applied from the outside and can be flexibly adapted to your operating conditions.
With a bore of 7 mm, an outside diameter of 17 mm and a narrow width of 5 mm, this bearing belongs to the compact series. These dimensions allow it to be fitted into housings with very limited radial and axial installation space. Always check the dimensional accuracy of the shaft and housing seats before assembly.
An open deep-groove ball bearing has neither cover plates nor sealing plates, which means that the rolling elements and the sheet steel cage remain freely accessible. This design does not generate any additional friction caused by sealing lips. To prevent wear, the bearing must be protected from dirt particles and supplied with lubricant via the surrounding housing.
This designation refers to the standard operating clearance between the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements when the bearing is unmounted. This standard clearance compensates for typical thermal expansion within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees and is suitable for standard fits on cylindrical shafts where there are no extreme temperature influences.
Classification under tolerance class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) defines the standard accuracy for dimensional, geometric and running deviations in accordance with industry standards. Components in this class meet all standard requirements of general mechanical engineering and ensure a dimensionally accurate fit when used as replacement parts or in original equipment.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which is characterised by its hardness and dimensional stability. Together with the sheet steel cage, the material withstands constant alternating loads and ensures even load distribution during operation.
The bearing is specified for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within this range, the 100Cr6 steel retains its microstructural stability. When commissioning the system, ensure that the selected lubricant is also suitable for the actual operating temperature of the bearing location.
