Cylindrical Roller Bearings FAG NU313 -E-M1

FAG NU313 -E-M1 single-row cylindrical roller bearing with a 65 mm bore, brass cage and removable inner ring for heavily loaded floating bearings.

The NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG is a single-row radial roller bearing designed to withstand high radial loads. In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, which significantly simplifies the separate assembly of the shaft and housing. Fitted with a brass cage and standard radial clearance, this open roller bearing is suitable for demanding mechanical bearing arrangements.

What functions does the NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing perform as a non-locating bearing?

The NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing primarily functions as a conventional idler bearing in industrial machinery and gearbox construction. Thanks to the flangeless inner ring, the bearing compensates for thermally induced axial length changes of the shaft relative to the surrounding housing directly within the bearing itself, without any constraint. It is particularly suited to applications involving shaft bearings subjected to high radial loads, where axial forces are absorbed separately by an additional fixed bearing.

What is important when fitting a bearing with a removable inner ring?

In the NU design, both design and maintenance benefit from the separate mountability of the components. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the inner and outer rings can be fitted onto the shaft and into the housing bore independently of one another. As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no lubrication bore of its own, the surrounding structure must provide external sealing as well as a proper supply of lubricating oil or grease.

What are the distinctive features of the NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing design?

In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is completely flangeless. This design allows the shaft to move axially within the bearing in both directions. Consequently, this design is suitable for use as a floating bearing to smoothly compensate for thermal linear expansion.

What are the dimensions of the NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing?

The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm. This version is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 for standard requirements.

What is the purpose of the brass cage in the bearing?

The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers and maintains a uniform distance between them. Brass is characterised by high strength and thermal stability. This makes the cage resistant to mechanical vibrations and dynamic impact loads during operation.

What is the standard radial clearance for this cylindrical roller bearing?

Standard radial bearing clearance provides a balance between positioning accuracy and smooth running. It is intended for applications where standard fits are used and there are no unusually large temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.

What is the permissible temperature range for the NU313 -E-M1?

The bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C. In addition to the temperature resistance of the bearing components, the thermal operating limits of the selected lubricant are the key factor in ensuring safe operation on site.

How is the open cylindrical roller bearing lubricated?

As the NU313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is supplied from the factory without seals and without a lubrication groove in the outer ring, the lubricant is supplied via the housing. Depending on the application, lubrication can be carried out using grease or oil, whilst housing seals protect against contamination.
