The FAG NU226 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row non-locating bearing with a polyamide cage, provides stable radial support with dimensions of 130 × 230 × 40 mm.
The FAG NU226 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for high radial loads. Its dimensions are 130 mm bore, 230 mm outside diameter and 40 mm width. As an open bearing, it operates in an externally lubricated housing environment. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, this roller bearing fits perfectly into standard industrial applications. The permissible temperature range extends from -30 to +120 degrees.
This design is used in bearing locations subject to purely radial loads, where operational changes in shaft length occur. In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and removable from both sides. As a result, the unit functions purely as a non-locating bearing. Typical applications include designs in which thermal shaft expansion needs to be compensated for freely within the bearing.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers quietly and reduces the overall weight of the rotating rolling element assembly. Owing to the material, the cage elastically absorbs minor impacts. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, you can integrate the roller bearing into the lubrication circuit via the housing cavity. The removable inner ring also facilitates assembly, as you can press both rings separately onto the shaft and the housing.
A single-row radial roller bearing from the NU series with an inner diameter of 130 mm, an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 40 mm. The design features a flangeless inner ring, which allows for axial movement of the shaft. Fitted with a polyamide cage, this bearing can withstand high radial loads and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
Two solid flanges on the outer ring guide the row of rollers, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the shaft to move axially relative to the housing as a result of thermal expansion. This design counteracts axial stresses in the bearing system and is typically used to create the free bearing side in fixed-floating bearing arrangements.
The inner ring can be completely removed from the assembly and fitted separately onto the shaft seat. This considerably simplifies installation and removal in the case of tight fits. During final assembly, simply guide the shaft – with the inner ring already fitted – axially into the outer ring with the roller set.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the radial clearance between the rolling elements and the inner and outer rings, as set by the manufacturer, when the bearing is unloaded. This standard clearance class is designed for conventional fit specifications and typical operating temperatures. Once fitted, an appropriate operating clearance remains to ensure smooth, jam-free running.
As this model is manufactured without integrated seals and without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring, lubrication takes place via the housing chamber. Suitable grease or lubricating oil is fed to the rolling elements from the side. An external seal in the housing design keeps the lubricant within the bearing chamber.
This tolerance class defines the industry standard for dimensional, geometric and concentricity accuracy in rolling bearings. It specifies binding limit dimensions for the bore, outer diameter and bearing width. This provides designers and maintenance engineers with reliable fit dimensions for standardised housing and shaft seats in general mechanical engineering.
