The NUP2318 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager supports shafts with a 90 mm bore axially on both sides and withstands high radial loads.
The NUP2318 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row radial roller bearing with main dimensions of 90 × 190 × 64 mm. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can withstand high radial loads. As it is an open bearing, the bearing housing requires external sealing within the surrounding structure. The design has a standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
In shaft mountings subject to high radial forces, this design serves as a fixed bearing. Thanks to the NUP design, which features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring, the component secures the shaft in both axial directions. Its use is recommended wherever, in addition to high transverse forces, positive axial guidance is also required.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements with low friction and helps to dampen noise. Its low weight minimises centrifugal forces within the bearing. When specifying the operating parameters, the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees must be taken into account. As the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied laterally via the housing cavity.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc. As a result, the cylindrical roller bearing acts as a fixed bearing. It absorbs radial forces and guides the shaft axially in both directions within the bearing housing.
The roller bearing has a bore of 90 mm, an outer diameter of 190 mm and a width of 64 mm. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The designation TVP2 refers to a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the rotating mass and minimises friction on the rolling elements. This promotes quiet operation and reduces heat build-up in the rolling bearing.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +120 degrees. The maximum operating temperature is largely determined by the polyamide cage. When selecting a grease or lubricating oil, it is important to ensure that the lubricant remains effective within these temperature limits.
As the bearing is manufactured without sealing washers, an external seal in the housing wall protects against dirt and moisture. Lubrication can be carried out using grease or oil. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the side chamber of the housing.
Standard radial bearing clearance means that the internal radial clearance in the initial state corresponds to the standard values. It is designed for standard fits on shafts and housings, as well as normal operating temperatures, so that the correct operating clearance is established after installation.
