The FAG 6014 -2Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 70x110x20 mm, end shields on both sides and a C3 clearance, offers a reliable solution for rotating shafts.
The 6014 -2Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a single-row rolling bearing for shaft diameters of 70 mm. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the design primarily accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. Sheet metal covers on both sides protect the interior from foreign particles, whilst the steel cage guides the rolling elements. The design complies with the Normal tolerance class (P0/PN or ABEC 1) and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees.
This rolling bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements with rotating shafts in the 70 mm range, where radial forces predominate. Thanks to the non-contact gap seals, the friction torque remains low, making this design particularly suitable for medium to high speeds. For maintenance purposes, the standard dimensions of 70x110x20 mm allow for rapid identification when required, whilst businesses are provided with a predictable basis for their ongoing spare parts requirements.
The increased C3 radial bearing clearance compensates for thermal and mechanical dimensional changes caused by operational heating or tight fits on the shaft and housing. If the inner ring expands more than the outer ring, the additional radial clearance counteracts any distortion of the rolling elements. The 2Z designation also refers to cover plates made of sheet steel, which reduce the ingress of dirt without generating additional frictional heat at the sealing edges.
With an internal bore of 70 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 20 mm, this version conforms to standard key dimensions. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no flange or ring groove. These dimensions make it easier for you to design new bearing arrangements and to fit them directly into existing machine designs.
Cover plates made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on both sides, form a non-contact sealing gap with the inner ring shoulders. They keep particles out of the raceway area and prevent the lubricant from escaping prematurely. Compared with abrasive rubber seals, these gap seals do not cause any additional frictional resistance on the shaft.
A radial bearing clearance of C3 is measurably higher than the standard base value and provides the rolling elements with greater radial clearance in their initial state. This is advantageous when operational temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings, or when tight fits significantly reduce the internal operating clearance after the bearing has been pressed onto the shaft.
The specified temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. The rolling elements and rings are made of standard 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, which, together with the integrated sheet-steel cage, retains its dimensional stability within these limits. In practical design, the temperature suitability of the lubricant used must always be taken into account.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which also corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This tolerance class specifies the permissible dimensional and concentricity deviations for the bore, outer diameter and width, and reliably meets the requirements of standard industrial applications in mechanical engineering.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along their circular path inside the bearing. This cage design is characterised by its low weight and good resistance to typical mechanical stresses. The cage is suitable for the entire temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees.
