The 6326-M deep groove ball bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings, with dimensions of 130 x 280 x 58 mm and a brass cage, offers a robust solution for heavy-duty industrial applications.
The 6326-M deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing for shafts with a diameter of 130 mm. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6), this radial ball bearing primarily accommodates high radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. This design is from FAG Rolling Bearings and has an outer diameter of 280 mm and a width of 58 mm. As an open bearing, it can be lubricated directly via the machine’s lubrication system.
This deep-groove ball bearing is primarily used in general mechanical and plant engineering, where heavy shafts need to be supported. Design engineers prefer to use the open design in enclosed housings with centralised oil or grease lubrication. Thanks to its design for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees, the component is suitable for demanding thermal conditions. The design is aimed at bearing locations where high radial loads and axial forces must be continuously absorbed.
The suffix ‘-M’ denotes a solid brass cage that guides the rolling elements precisely. Brass is characterised by its dimensional stability under vibrations and dynamic shock loads. Furthermore, the bearing has tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or ABEC 1) and standard radial clearance. When designing the application, it should be noted that open roller bearings require an external housing seal to protect against dirt and moisture in order to prevent premature wear.
With an internal bore of 130 mm, an external diameter of 280 mm and a width of 58 mm, this component belongs to the category of larger roller bearings. The dimensions comply with the standardised key dimensions for this type of bearing. Before fitting, the shaft seat and housing bore should be checked to ensure a precise fit.
The abbreviation -M stands for a solid brass cage that keeps the steel balls spaced apart. A brass cage is characterised by its high resistance to vibrations and shock loads. It serves to guide the rolling elements safely under demanding dynamic operating conditions.
Open roller bearings have neither cover plates nor contact seals. This design allows unimpeded access of lubricant in the case of recirculating lubrication or oil-bath operation within the housing. At the same time, no additional friction is caused by sealing lips. To keep contaminants out, the surrounding machine housing must be sealed with external sealing rings.
This bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, which is designed for common fit combinations and standard operation. The bearing clearance refers to the radial play between the balls and the raceways prior to installation. When pressed onto the shaft, this clearance is reduced as a result of the assembly process, so that the intended operating clearance is achieved during operation.
The permissible temperature range is between -20 and +150 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the brass cage are designed for this range. During commissioning, care must be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant is also approved for the system’s respective operating temperatures.
As a single-row radial ball bearing, it primarily absorbs high radial forces perpendicular to the shaft. Thanks to the deep grooves in the solid raceways, the rolling bearing can also transmit guiding forces in both axial directions. Purely axial loads should be avoided, as separate axial roller bearings are designed for this purpose.
