The FAG 6320 -MA-C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing, measuring 100 × 215 × 47 mm, combines radial load capacity with increased C3 bearing clearance and a brass cage.
The FAG 6320 -MA-C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing is designed for demanding industrial applications where radial forces and additional axial forces are present. With a bore of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 215 mm and a width of 47 mm, this version is one of the heavy-duty rolling bearings for larger shaft diameters. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the design covers an operating temperature range from –30 to +150 degrees. As the bearing is of open design, it can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems.
This rolling bearing is primarily designed to withstand high radial loads in industrial drives, gearboxes and heavy machinery bearing housings. Thanks to the combination of an open design and a robust internal structure, the bearing can withstand both constant and varying loads at medium to high speeds. Typical applications include heavy machinery, industrial gearboxes and large electric motors. Design engineers use this design where stable shaft guidance without a flange or groove on the outer ring is required and external lubrication is provided anyway.
The designation -MA stands for a solid brass cage with an external guide. This cage design guides the rolling elements with low vibration and is designed for heavy mechanical loads. The suffix C3 denotes a slightly increased radial clearance. This increased radial clearance compensates for thermal expansion that occurs between the inner ring and the outer ring during operation. This ensures that sufficient residual clearance is maintained in the case of tight fits on the shaft or in the housing. For correct installation, tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 must be taken into account.
This version has an internal diameter of 100 mm, an external diameter of 215 mm and a total width of 47 mm. The outer ring has no groove and no flange. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit when installed in housings and on shafts designed for this size.
The suffix ‘MA’ denotes a solid brass cage that is guided on the outer ring. Outer-ring-guided brass cages offer high strength under severe acceleration or vibration. They maintain a uniform spacing between the rolling elements and are suitable for demanding operating conditions in heavy-duty industrial drives.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This clearance helps to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed due to heating during operation or as a result of tight bearing seats. This compensates for temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, thereby preventing an impermissibly high operating pressure on the rolling elements.
As this ball bearing is of an open design, it has no integrated seals. Lubrication is provided by the surrounding equipment, for example via an oil bath, oil circulation or external grease lubrication. When designing the bearing housing, external seals must be fitted to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The bearing, made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Within this temperature range, the rings and rolling elements retain their dimensional stability. When selecting the lubricant and the surrounding housing seal, these limit values must also be taken into account to ensure trouble-free operation.
This FAG bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification. This represents the standard tolerance for industrial rolling bearings. It defines permissible deviations for concentricity, bore diameter and outer diameter, and is compatible with standard bearing seat fits in mechanical and plant engineering.
