The 6319-2Z deep groove ball bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings, measuring 95 x 200 x 45 mm, features sheet metal shields on both sides to provide mechanical protection whilst minimising friction.
The 6319-2Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6), designed primarily for radial loads as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. With a bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 45 mm, this bearing is one of the larger components used in mechanical and plant engineering. This component from FAG Wälzlager, supplied ready for installation with cover plates, is designed for direct fitting in demanding industrial applications.
This bearing is typically used in larger industrial drives, gearboxes and general mechanical engineering, where high radial forces act on the shaft. Thanks to the 2Z cover on both sides, this design is particularly suitable for environments containing dry particulate matter. As the non-contact gap seals do not generate frictional heat, the bearing remains thermally stable even at higher speeds. Installation is therefore recommended wherever low-friction operation is required.
The metallic cover plates (2Z) protect the bearing interior from coarse contaminants and retain the grease in the rolling element chamber without causing any additional frictional torque. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance and the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this design is intended for conventional installation conditions with standard fit seats. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements stably across the entire temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The bearing has a cylindrical bore of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 45 mm. The outer ring has neither a groove nor a flange. These standardised dimensions allow for direct installation in suitable housings and bearing seats.
The abbreviation 2Z denotes cover plates made of profiled sheet steel fitted on both sides. These gap covers do not come into direct contact with the inner ring, thereby preventing any additional friction. Their purpose is to make it more difficult for solid foreign particles to penetrate and to keep the lubricant within the bearing housing.
The permissible operating temperature range extends from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This operating range is made possible by the standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and the robust sheet steel cage. Within this range, the components retain their dimensional stability and functionality.
The standard radial bearing clearance corresponds to the standard clearance without any increase. It is suitable for designs with moderate operating temperatures and standard fits on the shaft and housing. After installation, there remains sufficient internal clearance between the balls and raceways to ensure smooth running under load.
The component features sheet metal cover plates on both sides, acting as a non-contact barrier against coarse dust particles and foreign bodies. Due to their design, simple gap seals do not provide a watertight seal against liquids or splash water. When used in damp environments, it is therefore advisable to fit an additional external seal in the housing cover.
Both the inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made of hardened standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material offers high strength under dynamic loads. A dimensionally stable cage made of stamped sheet steel is used to guide the balls precisely.
