The SKF 6310 -2RS1/C3 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 50x110x27 mm, offers protection against dirt and allows for thermal expansion.
The SKF 6310 -2RS1/C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for shafts with a diameter of 50 mm. With an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm, this component primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial loads. Thanks to the factory-fitted contact seals and the increased C3 bearing clearance, the bearing unit operates reliably in rotating shaft assemblies, even under demanding environmental conditions and operational heating.
This design is particularly suitable for demanding bearing locations where dusty environmental conditions prevail. The seals, which rub against the bearing on both sides and are made from a material with a steel insert, keep out dirt particles and moisture, whilst the lubricant remains inside the bearing. Thanks to its robust design featuring a guided sheet steel cage, the rolling bearing can withstand continuous rotational movement. The permissible temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees covers standard requirements for continuous industrial operation.
The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional internal clearance helps to prevent stress build-up if the inner ring and shaft expand more than the housing due to friction or external heat. This ensures that sufficient operating clearance remains even with tight-fit selections. In combination with the contact-type 2RS1 seal, you obtain a ready-to-fit, sealed component in tolerance class P0/PN, which eliminates the need for relubrication and reduces installation effort.
The dimensions are 50 mm internal diameter, 110 mm external diameter and 27 mm width. The outer ring has no flange or groove. These standardised dimensions allow for direct replacement in housing bores and on cylindrical shaft seats with the appropriate dimensional alignment.
The suffix C3 indicates a larger radial clearance than in the standard version. This version prevents the rolling elements from jamming should temperature differences arise between the rotating shaft and the housing during operation. Similarly, the increased bearing clearance compensates for dimensional overlaps caused by tight fits.
Elastomer sealing lips, fitted on both sides and reinforced with sheet steel, rest against the inner ring shoulders with light pressure. They effectively protect the rolling element raceways against the ingress of dirt particles and splash water, whilst at the same time reliably preventing the grease from escaping.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +120 degrees. The seal materials and the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel retain their dimensional and elastic properties within this range. For applications outside these temperature limits, specific seal and lubricant designs should be investigated.
Inside, a robust sheet steel cage maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements, which are arranged in a single row. Sheet steel cages are characterised by their low weight combined with high mechanical strength. They withstand vibrations during everyday use and do not require any special readjustment during normal operation.
The component is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This class meets the usual requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy in mechanical engineering and is compatible with standardised fits on shafts and in housings.
