The SKF 6309-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 45x100x25 mm, offers reliable protection against dirt thanks to abiding seals on both sides.
The 6309 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed primarily for radial loads, whilst also accommodating axial forces in both directions. SKF manufactures this bearing from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel with a cylindrical bore. Thanks to factory greasing and double-sided sealing, the unit is protected from external influences during operation. Designers use this version primarily where solid particles or moisture need to be kept out of the bearing interior.
This radial ball bearing is used for medium to heavy radial loads in combination with axial load components. The outer ring, which has no groove or flange, fits flush into cylindrical housing bores, whilst the sheet steel cage guides the balls precisely. The component is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. The design covers a wide range of industrial bearing applications where a sealed design is required.
The designation 2RS1 indicates abiding seals arranged on both sides. These sealing discs contact the inner ring and help to keep out dust and moisture, whilst ensuring that the lubricant remains within the bearing chamber. Compared with non-contact cover plates, sliding seals provide an effective barrier in dusty environments. Under normal installation conditions, the standard radial bearing clearance ensures smooth running within tolerance class P0.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct installation in appropriately designed housing and shaft seats.
The suffix 2RS1 denotes a sliding seal fitted on both sides. It seals the bearing against the ingress of dirt particles and moisture, and helps to retain the factory-applied grease inside the bearing.
The model features the standard radial bearing clearance. This standard bearing clearance is intended for typical mounting conditions on the shaft and housing, provided there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
This sealed roller bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. The design of the sealing lips and the lubricant used limit the operating temperature to this range.
The bearing rings and the rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The rolling elements are guided by a sheet steel cage, which is designed to withstand normal rotational loads.
Due to the double-sided sliding seals, the component is supplied from the factory with grease. Relubrication is not required during normal operation, as the bearing is designed to be operated as a sealed unit.
