The 6308-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing from SKF combines a 40 mm bore and a 90 mm outer diameter with seals that seal on both sides.
The 6308-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. This SKF Wälzlager design primarily absorbs radial forces and also supports axial loads in both directions. Thanks to the factory-fitted seals, the design protects the bearing interior from dirt particles. Maintenance engineers and designers use this versatile unit in numerous rotating shaft arrangements in industrial machinery.
This rolling bearing is used wherever shafts with a 40 mm diameter need to be supported under medium to high loads. It is designed for bearing locations subject to combined loads in dusty or damp environments. The integrated seal helps to retain the lubricant within the bearing housing and to keep out moisture and particles. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage, the bearing performs reliably under continuous speeds and varying load directions in continuous operation.
The suffix 2RS1 denotes abutting sealing lips on both sides. Compared with open designs, this contact protection reduces maintenance requirements, as the interior remains shielded from environmental influences. When selecting the bearing, you should take into account the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1). The component is designed for an operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
With an internal diameter of 40 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These dimensions allow for direct fitting onto suitable shafts and into corresponding housing bores without the need for additional spacer rings.
The designation 2RS1 refers to a double-sided, sliding rubber seal. The flexible sealing lips make direct contact with the inner ring, protecting the bearing interior from dirt and moisture and retaining the factory-applied lubricant within the housing.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for standard installation conditions with typical shaft and housing fits, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees. The seal materials and the standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel used remain dimensionally stable within this temperature range and continue to function as intended during operation.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A cage made from pressed sheet steel, designed for standard operating speeds, ensures that the rolling elements are guided and spaced evenly.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 (equivalent to PN and ABEC 1). This tolerance class meets the requirements of the mechanical engineering sector regarding the dimensional, geometric and running accuracy of the raceways.
