The SKF 6307 N deep groove ball bearing, with a 35 mm bore and a ring groove in the outer ring, offers a solution for space-saving axial fixings.
The 6307 N deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, with dimensions of 35 x 80 x 21 mm. Designed as an open bearing, it does not require integrated sealing washers and can be integrated directly into existing lubrication circuits. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements at operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees. The rolling bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and has standard radial clearance.
This radial ball bearing is primarily designed to withstand high radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. This version is particularly suitable for designs where the bearing housing requires axial fixation via a retaining ring. Due to its open design, the bearing is particularly suitable for clean installation environments or sealed housings with oil or grease lubrication, where no external contamination can penetrate.
The suffix ‘N’ indicates a ring groove in the outer ring of the bearing. This groove is designed to accommodate a retaining ring, allowing the bearing to be secured axially in the housing without the need for additional housing shoulders or spacer rings. This saves installation space and simplifies housing machining. During design, care must be taken to ensure that the housing bore provides sufficient clearance for the retaining ring used.
The designation ‘N’ indicates a circumferential groove in the outer ring of the rolling bearing. A suitable retaining ring can be fitted into this groove to secure the bearing axially within the housing. This eliminates the need for complex housing shoulders, which simplifies the design and saves axial installation space.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 80 mm and a width of 21 mm. It is a single-row deep-groove ball bearing, manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel with a guided sheet steel cage.
The 6307 N deep-groove ball bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees. As this is an open bearing without elastic contact seals, the actual operating temperature limit depends largely on the thermal stability of the lubricant used.
As an open roller bearing without sealing washers, this version is not factory-filled with grease. Lubrication is provided by the relevant housing system, for example via an external oil bath, a lubricant circulation system or application-specific greasing during assembly.
This model features the standard radial bearing clearance. The internal operating clearance between the rolling elements and raceways is selected to ensure smooth, low-friction operation with standard fit selections for the shaft and housing, as well as under normal operating temperatures.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance (PN) or ABEC 1. This class fully meets the usual dimensional and running accuracy requirements for standard industrial applications in mechanical engineering.
