The SKF 6306 -2RS1/C3 deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 30x72x19 mm, with double-sided laboured seals and a C3 clearance, ensures smooth running under thermal conditions.
The SKF 6306 -2RS1/C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) and fitted with a sheet steel cage, this version has a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. The bearing, which has no groove or flange on the outer ring, is designed for a temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This design is primarily used on rotating shafts where thermal influences or slight misalignments occur. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering as well as in drives and pumps. The double-sided seal keeps out contaminants and moisture. At the same time, the increased bearing clearance compensates for heat-induced dimensional changes during operation, thereby preventing the rolling elements from seizing.
The designation C3 stands for a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This internal clearance between the rolling elements and raceways compensates for assembly fit oversizes and operational heating. The designation 2RS1 refers to double-seal arrangements that enclose the internal space and retain the lubricant within the bearing. In combination with tolerance class P0 (PN or ABEC 1), this design ensures stable operation under industrial conditions.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into housings and onto shafts with the corresponding nominal dimensions.
The suffix C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than that of the standard version. This internal clearance serves to compensate for temperature- or fit-related expansion of the shaft and inner ring during operation, without the bearing seizing up.
The designation 2RS1 refers to sliding seal rings fitted on both sides. These come into contact with the inner ring and help to retain the lubricant inside the bearing, whilst preventing the ingress of moisture and dirt particles.
The component is specified for use at temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the performance of the roller bearing steel, the seals and the lubricant remains stable.
This deep-groove ball bearing features a sheet steel cage. It keeps the rolling elements at a uniform distance from one another and is characterised by its low weight and mechanical strength in normal industrial environments.
The product is manufactured to tolerance class P0, which corresponds to the standard tolerance (PN) and the ABEC 1 classification. It therefore reliably meets all standard precision requirements in general mechanical engineering, plant engineering and vehicle manufacturing.
