The 6306-2Z deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, measuring 30 x 72 x 19 mm and featuring cover plates on both sides, offers protection against dirt particles whilst maintaining low friction.
The 6306-2Z deep groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row radial ball bearing with a bore diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, the component primarily accommodates radial loads and, due to its design, can also handle axial loads in both directions. The outer ring has no flange or groove. An integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements precisely at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This rolling bearing is designed for applications in general mechanical engineering, as well as for rotating drive units and electric motors. It provides guidance at medium to high speeds and is frequently used in gearbox shafts or electric drives. The sheet metal shields on both sides keep coarse foreign matter and dirt particles out of the bearing interior, enabling the component to maintain its running characteristics under moderate contamination.
The version with the suffix -2Z features non-contacting metal cover plates on both sides. As the sheet metal plates do not come into contact with the rotating inner ring, no additional frictional heat is generated compared to sliding seals. This allows operation at high speeds. The standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 ensure stable, low-vibration operation within standard fit tolerances and the specified temperature range.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has no flange or groove.
The designation -2Z indicates that cover plates made of pressed sheet steel are fitted on both sides. These plates form a non-contact gap seal, protect the interior of the bearing from the ingress of solid foreign particles and keep friction losses to a minimum during operation.
The component is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This operating range is tailored to industrial applications in engines, gearboxes and machinery.
This model has the standard radial bearing clearance. The internal bearing clearance falls within the standard range for deep-groove ball bearings, which ensures balanced load distribution and low-vibration operation under normal mounting fits and operating temperatures.
The bearing rings and the rolling elements are made from conventional standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The balls are guided by a cage made from stamped sheet steel.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the US. This specification is the standard in the industry for dimensional and running accuracy in mechanical engineering.
