The SKF 626-Z deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 6x19x6 mm and a single-sided cover, offers protection against dirt whilst maintaining low rotational resistance.
The 626-Z deep groove ball bearing is a compact, single-row miniature roller bearing for shafts with a diameter of 6 mm. The design primarily accommodates radial loads and guides the shaft precisely within the housing. Thanks to its manufacture from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this bearing is well-suited to equipment with limited installation space. It combines a compact design with smooth guidance of the rolling elements within the sheet steel cage.
This miniature bearing is primarily used in compact shaft mountings where radial installation space is limited. With an outer diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm, the bearing fits into narrow bearing seats. The component is suitable for designs where normal radial loads occur at medium to high speeds and where frictional resistance must remain low.
The version with the suffix ‘Z’ features a non-contacting sheet metal cover on one side of the bearing. This cover shields the interior from coarse dirt particles without causing friction losses. The open opposite side allows lubricant to be applied directly where required. This variant is primarily intended for installation scenarios where one side of the bearing needs to remain open towards the interior of the housing, whilst the outer side is protected against the ingress of dirt.
The bore for the shaft is exactly 6 mm, the outer diameter measures 19 mm and the width is 6 mm. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the miniature bearing is suitable for compact installation spaces and standardised housing fits.
The suffix ‘Z’ denotes a cover plate made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on one side. This plate runs past the inner ring without coming into contact with it. It protects the rolling elements from solid contaminants without increasing the operating temperature through additional friction.
This roller bearing has a standard radial clearance (normal clearance). The internal operating clearance between the balls and raceways is selected so that standard shaft and housing fits can be assembled without stress at normal operating temperatures.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The temperature-resistant sheet steel cage and the case-hardened roller bearing steel can withstand these thermal stresses, provided that the lubricant used is suitable for this range.
Inside, a sheet steel cage maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements. This cage design is characterised by its low weight, takes up little space inside the housing and, in continuous practical use, proves to be resistant to impact loads.
The raceways and balls are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This case-hardened chrome steel offers high wear resistance and dimensional stability under the typical loads experienced in the rolling zone.
