The SKF 626-2Z/C3 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 6x19x6 mm, cover plates on both sides and a C3 clearance, offers low-friction operation for compact shafts.
The SKF 626 -2Z/C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing is designed to accommodate primarily radial loads as well as light axial forces in the miniature range. With a bore of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm, the rolling bearing fits into space-saving assemblies. The design, made from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6, features a robust sheet steel cage. Manufactured to the standard tolerance P0/PN, the component is suitable for precise rotational movements in small devices and electric drives.
This miniature bearing is primarily used in small electric motors, precision engineering equipment and compact drives. As the bearing operates within a temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees, it is suitable for standard operating conditions in continuous industrial use. The cylindrical outer ring without a flange allows for flush mounting in cylindrical housing bores, whilst the sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements even during rapid rotational movements.
The designation -2Z refers to non-contact gap seals made of sheet metal on both sides, which shield the interior of the bearing from coarse dirt particles without generating additional friction. The increased C3 radial bearing clearance compensates for dimensional changes when the inner and outer rings heat up unevenly during operation or when tight press fits reduce the radial clearance. This prevents premature seizing of the rolling elements and promotes smooth rotation under varying thermal conditions.
This miniature bearing has an inside diameter of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm. Thanks to these compact dimensions, this single-row roller bearing can be fitted to 6 mm shafts and in appropriately sized housings in a particularly space-saving manner.
The suffix -2Z denotes cover discs made of sheet steel fitted on both sides. These discs act as a non-contact gap seal to prevent the ingress of solid foreign particles and dust. As the sealing discs do not rub against the inner ring, the frictional torque remains low, which makes them suitable for use at higher speeds.
A C3 bearing clearance provides greater radial operating clearance than the standard version. This clearance is useful when temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing, or when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand. This ensures that the bearing continues to run smoothly even under the influence of heat, without any tension building up.
The permissible temperature range extends from -20 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, the sheet steel cage and the sheet metal covers retain their dimensional stability and functionality. For applications involving extreme cold or heat, however, special bearing designs are required.
The deep-groove ball bearing complies with the standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1 in accordance with current rolling bearing standards. This precision class offers sufficient concentricity for most industrial applications. When preparing the bearing seats, the tolerances of the shaft and housing bore should be matched to this standard accuracy.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from case-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The cage and the two side cover plates are made from sheet steel. This combination of materials provides mechanical strength and resistance to rolling wear during normal operation.
