The SKF 626 deep groove ball bearing is a compact, open miniature bearing measuring 6x19x6 mm, designed for a wide range of industrial applications.
The SKF 626 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for compact installations with demanding rotational requirements. With a bore of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm, this miniature bearing primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial forces. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) in the Explorer design, the product combines optimised internal geometries with smooth running. When you purchase this roller bearing, you receive a precision-manufactured component for new designs or maintenance work.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians prefer to use the 626 deep-groove ball bearing in small electric motors, measuring instruments and precision mechanical drives. Thanks to its compact dimensions, this design is suitable for applications with limited installation space where precise shaft guidance is required. As the open design does not require any sealing lips that could cause friction, the bearing operates with low frictional resistance when the housing is suitably lubricated.
This model has no integrated sealing washers. The open bearing therefore requires a clean environment and an external supply of lubricant within the housing, for example oil or grease. With the standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing is suitable for standard operating conditions within a temperature range of –20 to +120 °C. The P0 tolerance class (corresponding to ABEC 1), the cylindrical outer ring without a groove, and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage ensure low-vibration operation and smooth guidance of the rolling elements.
With a bore of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm, the bearing complies with standard miniature dimensions. Thanks to these dimensions, the single-row component can be integrated precisely into small housings. These dimensions enable quick replacement during routine maintenance and repair work.
Open roller bearings do not have sliding seals, which keeps the friction torque to a minimum and allows for high speeds. This variant is suitable for enclosed installations where lubrication is provided externally. It also allows the lubricant to be tailored to the specific application during initial installation.
This value describes the standard internal clearance between the balls and raceways when the bearing is unloaded. It is designed for standard shaft and housing fits and ensures that the bearing does not seize up when heated during operation within the temperature range of -20 to +120 °C.
The bearing rings and rolling elements are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, which offers high dimensional stability under load. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway. The Explorer version from SKF is also characterised by a refined surface finish.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -20 and +120 °C. Within these limits, the sheet steel cage and the roller bearing steel retain their mechanical properties. When selecting the lubricant, care must be taken to ensure that its thermal resistance is suitable for the intended application.
This classification defines the basic dimensional and concentricity tolerances of the bearing. Tolerance class P0 corresponds to the standard precision grade, comparable to the ABEC 1 specification. For general mechanical engineering applications and small drives, this class ensures reliable dimensional accuracy and low-vibration operation.
