The SKF 62310 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing (50x110x40 mm) offers protection from both sides via seals and a robust load-carrying capacity for demanding radial loads in mechanical engineering.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 62310 -2RS1 primarily supports radial loads whilst also handling moderate axial forces in both directions. With a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm, this SKF bearing is suitable for compact industrial drives. The rings and rolling elements are made of hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. Two sliding seal discs retain the lubricant within the bearing housing and protect the interior from contamination.
This deep-groove ball bearing is used in industrial shaft mountings where radial forces and dusty environments prevail. Thanks to its 40 mm bearing width, the design provides stable support for rotating shafts. This design is used in general mechanical engineering, as the sealing elements prevent the ingress of moisture and dirt particles. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures smooth running within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
The 2RS1 seal, which makes contact on both sides, provides mechanical protection for the raceways against particles and splash water, whilst retaining the grease fill inside the bearing. This contact-type design is particularly suitable for dusty operating environments. When designing the bearing, engineers rely on the tried-and-tested tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), which is designed for standard shafts and standard housings. The integrated sheet steel cage maintains a fixed spacing between the rolling elements and withstands the typical acceleration forces encountered in continuous industrial operation.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm, the component provides a wide bearing surface on the shaft. Before installation, the available installation space in the housing and the diameter of the shaft seat must be checked.
The suffix 2RS1 indicates sealing discs fitted on both sides that come into contact with the bearing surfaces. The sealing lips make contact with the bearing surfaces of the inner ring. This seals off the lubricant chamber and effectively reduces the ingress of dirt and moisture.
Manufactured with a standard radial bearing clearance, this design is tailored to standard shaft and housing bore fits. It is suitable for normal operating temperatures without significant thermal variations and ensures precise guidance of the rotating shaft during operation.
Designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius, this range is determined by the materials used for the sealing lips and the roller bearing steel. For use at room temperature or in moderately warm areas of machinery, this range meets standard industrial requirements.
Inside the bearing, a lightweight sheet steel cage is at work. It keeps the single-row arrangement of rolling elements, made from bearing steel, at a uniform distance apart and prevents the balls from coming into direct contact with one another. Sheet steel cages are vibration-resistant, dimensionally stable and compatible with standard lubricating greases.
Classification according to tolerance class P0 (also referred to as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1) defines the permissible dimensional and running tolerances for shaft and housing seats. It represents the standard accuracy class in industrial mechanical engineering and is sufficient for standard gearboxes, pumps and many general drive designs.
