SKF single-row deep groove ball bearing 6219-Z, dimensions 95x170x32 mm, with a Z-type cover on one side for combined radial and axial loads.
The 6219 -Z deep groove ball bearing is a versatile SKF rolling bearing designed to withstand high radial forces as well as axial forces on both sides. With a bore of 95 mm, an outside diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm, this single-row component is used to support larger shafts in mechanical and plant engineering. The outer and inner rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made of case-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A guided sheet steel cage maintains an even spacing between the balls in the deep raceways.
Maintenance engineers and designers primarily use this design for shaft bearings subjected to combined loads and with an external lubricant supply. The bearing primarily absorbs radial loads, but also supports shafts against axial displacement in both directions. With a permissible temperature range of –20 to +150 degrees, the component is suitable for a wide range of industrial operating conditions. The cylindrical outer ring, which has no flange or groove, fits directly into standardised housing bores.
The version with the suffix ‘Z’ denotes a non-contacting sheet metal cover on one side of the bearing, whilst the opposite side remains open. This design protects the interior from dirt particles from the outside, but, unlike abiding sealing lips, does not cause any friction loss. Lubricant can be supplied via the open side from an existing oil bath or via grease nipples. The version with standard radial bearing clearance and standard tolerance P0 (ABEC 1) is suitable for common fit conditions.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a total width of 32 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the bearing housing.
The abbreviation ‘Z’ refers to a cover plate made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on one side. It forms a narrow gap with the inner ring and keeps coarse contaminants out of the interior. As the cover disc operates without contact, there are no friction losses or additional heating at the sealing edge.
This component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This means that the internal clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways is designed for conventional mounting fits and standard operating temperatures without extreme thermal expansion.
The ball bearing is designed for use at temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees. This range covers typical ambient temperatures in industrial production facilities as well as thermal stresses during operation.
Both the raceways and the rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This case-hardened chrome steel provides the necessary hardness and wear resistance against fatigue under alternating rolling loads.
Inside the bearing, a sheet steel cage guides the balls. This type of cage is characterised by its low weight and good resistance to lubricants, and can be used universally within the specified temperature range.
