The SKF 6219-2Z deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 95x170x32 mm, features compact dimensions and non-contact sheet metal shields for protected shaft mountings in mechanical engineering.
The 6219-2Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing belonging to SKF’s Explorer performance class. With dimensions of 95 mm inner diameter, 170 mm outer diameter and 32 mm width, this rolling bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, this design features a robust sheet steel cage. The design without a groove on the outer ring is suitable for cylindrical housing seats in demanding industrial drives.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians prefer to use this size in industrial drive trains and rotating machinery units subject to continuous loads. With an outside diameter of 170 mm, the 6219-2Z deep groove ball bearing ensures low-vibration and smooth-running rotating shafts. The permissible temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees covers typical environmental conditions in continuous industrial operation. As the bearing is manufactured without a flange, it fits neatly into smooth housing bores.
The cover plates on both sides, made from profiled sheet steel, form a non-contact gap seal. They keep out dust and foreign particles and reduce lubricant loss without generating any additional frictional torque. Standard radial bearing clearance is suitable for standard fits on the shaft and in the housing, provided that no exceptional temperature gradients occur. Combined with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), you get an easy-to-install industrial roller bearing designed for continuous loads.
This roller bearing has an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm. It is a single-row radial ball bearing with no flange or groove on the outer ring. The cylindrical bore fits directly onto corresponding cylindrical shaft seats.
The suffix -2Z indicates that sheet steel cover discs are fitted on both sides. Unlike ablative sealing lips, these sheet metal discs do not come into contact with the inner ring. This keeps rotational resistance low, whilst protecting the interior from coarse contaminants and particles.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees. Within these temperature limits, both the roller bearing steel and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and strength. For applications outside these limits, special high- or low-temperature versions are required.
The component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This standard value ensures sufficient operating clearance during normal operation for typical transition fits. It helps to prevent the rolling elements from jamming, provided there is no significant thermal expansion of the shaft.
Both the raceways and the balls are made of standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6). This case-hardened chrome steel is characterised by high wear resistance, high load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability. A lightweight, robust sheet-steel cage is used to guide the rolling elements.
Manufacturing is carried out in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This precision grade fully meets the standard requirements in general mechanical engineering for concentricity and dimensional tolerances of the inner and outer rings.
