The FAG 6212 -2RSR-C3 deep-groove ball bearing combines a 60 mm bore with contact seals on both sides and increased C3 bearing clearance for industrial applications subject to thermal stress.
The FAG 6212 -2RSR-C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for predominantly radial and moderate axial loads. With key dimensions of 60 mm inner diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 22 mm width, the design is suitable for a wide range of shaft mountings. The use of standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for the rings and rolling elements ensures the unit retains its dimensional stability. An integrated sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly in the deep raceways, ensuring low-vibration operation.
This radial ball bearing is well-suited to industrial drive systems and rotating bearings operating at medium to high speeds. Typical applications include situations where rotating shafts require reliable support and where dirt or moisture is present in the environment. The sealing discs, which abut on both sides, keep foreign particles out and prevent the lubricant from leaking. Thanks to the cylindrical outer ring without a groove or flange, you can mount the bearing directly onto standard shafts and in precisely fitted housing bores.
The -2RSR-C3 version is designed for operating conditions involving temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. If the inner ring expands due to operating heat within the permissible range of -20 to +100 degrees, the additional clearance prevents the components from becoming stressed. The sliding seals seal off the internal space on both sides. This ensures that the grease filling remains in the bearing, thereby reducing maintenance requirements in enclosed machines.
With an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm, the bearing has standardised key dimensions. These dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely onto suitable shafts and into cylindrical housing bores.
The abbreviation 2RSR stands for two sliding contact seals made of elastomeric material, fitted on both sides. The sealing lips make contact with the inner ring, preventing dust and moisture from entering the interior. At the same time, the grease applied at the factory remains sealed within the bearing chamber.
The designation C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than that for standard conditions. If the shaft heats up more than the surrounding housing during operation, the inner ring expands. The additional bearing clearance compensates for this expansion and prevents mechanical stress.
The component is designed for use at temperatures ranging from -20 to +100 degrees. This range is determined by the suitability of the lubricant and the material of the sealing lips that come into contact with it. For applications outside these limits, different sealing materials are required.
In this design, a sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements within the housing. The cage maintains a constant distance between the balls, which ensures smooth running. Sheet steel is characterised by its high strength and can withstand normal operating temperatures.
The roller bearing complies with tolerance class P0, which corresponds to standard tolerance PN and ABEC 1. This manufacturing precision meets all the requirements of general mechanical engineering and allows for straightforward installation using standard fits on cylindrical shafts and in housings.
