The SKF 61801 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing has compact dimensions of 12 × 21 × 5 mm and is protected against dirt and moisture by a ground seal on both sides.
The SKF 61801 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing without a flange or groove on the outer ring, designed for installation spaces with a small radial cross-section. With a bore of 12 mm, an outside diameter of 21 mm and a narrow width of 5 mm, this model primarily accommodates radial loads. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard bearing steel 100Cr6, enabling the bearing to withstand the mechanical stresses of industrial use.
Designs with very limited installation space utilise this narrow bearing wherever the shaft diameter and housing wall are close together. The single-row design primarily accommodates radial forces and ensures that rotating shafts run with uniform concentricity. A sheet steel cage maintains the balls at a defined distance and ensures even load distribution across the raceway. As the bearing has no electrical insulation, it is designed for standard drives without electrical insulation requirements.
The designation 2RS1 stands for a double-sided sliding seal, whose sealing lips rest against the inner ring and reduce the ingress of dirt or moisture. At the same time, the sealing element helps to retain the grease inside the raceways. Designed for standard radial bearing clearance and manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, this version covers an operating temperature range from –20 to +120 degrees.
The dimensions are 12 mm internal diameter (bore), 21 mm external diameter and 5 mm width. Owing to these compact dimensions, the bearing is suitable for space-saving designs where the housing offers only limited radial clearance around the shaft.
The suffix 2RS1 denotes a double-sided sealing ring. The sealing lips make contact with the inner ring and help to keep dirt and moisture out of the bearing and minimise lubricant loss during operation.
The deep-groove ball bearing is designed with standard radial clearance. This standard clearance provides the appropriate operating clearance for typical fits on the shaft and housing, as well as for applications within the specified standard temperature range.
The permissible temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees. This range is determined by the interaction between the sliding seals on both sides and the roller bearing steel, and covers standard industrial operating conditions.
Both the rings and the rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rows of balls inside the bearing.
The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard tolerance ensures a defined level of dimensional accuracy for cylindrical bearing seats on shafts and in housing bores.
