The FAG 6017 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 85 × 130 × 22 mm and a ground seal on both sides, offers effective protection against contamination.
The 6017 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing with an 85 mm bore, a 130 mm outer diameter and a width of 22 mm. This FAG design primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and fitted with a sheet steel cage, this bearing type is suitable for smooth rotational movements in general mechanical engineering.
Designs utilise this type for shaft mountings where a 22 mm housing width is paired with a shaft diameter of 85 mm. The single-row deep groove ball bearing supports rotating shafts under radial forces and moderate axial loads. The specified temperature range of –20 to +100 degrees covers the typical conditions found in industrial environments. Thanks to its cylindrical shape without a flange or groove, the outer ring can be fitted flush into housing bores.
The designation 2RSR stands for seals fitted on both sides, the sealing lips of which bear directly against the inner ring. This design protects the raceways and rolling elements from ingress of dirt particles and moisture, and retains the lubricant inside the bearing. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance, the deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for standard fits on the shaft and in the housing, without the need for special thermal clearance.
With a bore of 85 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 22 mm, this roller bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These dimensions allow for direct installation in suitable housing and shaft seats. During assembly, the dimensional and form tolerances of tolerance class P0 must be taken into account.
The designation 2RSR refers to a double-sided, sliding seal. The seal lips come into contact with the rotating inner ring, thereby protecting the interior of the bearing from dust, moisture and solid foreign particles. At the same time, the seal prevents lubricant from escaping from the bearing chamber.
The deep-groove ball bearing is supplied with standard radial clearance. This parameter describes the radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. The standard version is suitable for standard fit combinations on shafts and housings at balanced operating temperatures.
The permissible operating range is from -20 to +100 degrees. This temperature limit is determined by the properties of the sliding seals and the lubrication. For applications where temperatures are consistently outside this range, alternative bearing and seal designs are required.
Both the balls and the bearing rings are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A sheet steel cage is fitted to guide the rolling elements; this keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and ensures stable guidance during continuous rotational movement.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This class specifies the permissible dimensional and concentricity tolerances for standard mechanical engineering applications where no higher precision class is required.
