The FAG 6016-2RSR deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 80 × 125 × 22 mm and featuring a sliding seal on both sides, provides protection against dirt and moisture.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 6016 -2RSR primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, this bearing is characterised by dimensional stability and smooth running. With a bore of 80 mm, an outer diameter of 125 mm and a width of 22 mm, this version complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). A sturdy sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly in the deep raceway of the outer and inner rings.
This deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for rotating shafts and general mechanical engineering applications with a shaft diameter of 80 mm. Designs in dusty or damp environments benefit from the double-sided sealing, which reduces grease leakage and prevents the ingress of solid particles. With a permissible temperature range of -20 to +100 degrees, the unit covers typical operating conditions in continuous drive applications.
The 2RSR seal, which seals on both sides, effectively seals off the interior of the bearing against dirt, dust and splash water. In this FAG bearing, the elastic sealing lips come into contact with the inner ring, which provides a high level of protection but results in a slightly higher friction torque than non-contacting cover plates. Furthermore, the factory-fitted grease filling simplifies maintenance, as no immediate relubrication is required during normal operation. When designing the application, ensure that the operating temperatures remain between -20 and +100 degrees.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 80 mm, an outside diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 22 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no groove or flange. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the component can be fitted directly into suitable housing bores and onto corresponding shaft seats.
The designation 2RSR indicates a rubber seal fitted on both sides that rubs against the bearing inner ring. It protects the interior of the bearing from ingress of particles and moisture. As the lubricant is retained within the bearing, the unit is ready for immediate use and requires no additional initial greasing during operation.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance (often designated as CN). This standard clearance is entirely sufficient for most applications involving standard fits and moderate operating temperatures. It ensures low-vibration operation and prevents the rolling elements from becoming stressed, provided that the shaft and housing are manufactured to the correct dimensions.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. This range is determined by the interaction between the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel, the lubricating grease and, above all, the sealing material of the 2RSR lips. For applications outside this range, special seal materials or high-temperature greases would be required.
The outer and inner rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from through-hardened standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures high load-carrying capacity and dimensional stability. The balls are guided by a robust sheet steel cage, which promotes low-friction operation and ensures uniform spacing between the rolling elements.
The bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 (corresponding to PN according to DIN or ABEC 1). This manufacturing precision fully meets standard requirements in general mechanical and plant engineering and ensures a precise fit on machined shafts and in standard housings.
