The FAG 6013 deep-groove ball bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing measuring 65 × 100 × 18 mm, designed for combined radial and axial loads.
The FAG 6013 deep groove ball bearing is a versatile rolling bearing for industrial applications. With a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a narrow width of 18 mm, this single-row radial bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. The design, featuring standard 100Cr6 rolling-element steel and a robust sheet steel cage, is engineered for demanding rotational movements. Design engineers and maintenance technicians utilise this design in compact shaft mountings and rotating assemblies.
The 6013 deep-groove ball bearing is primarily suitable for rotating shafts in machine designs where defined radial loads occur. Typical applications include rotary drive trains and units with cylindrical bearing seats. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage, the bearing guides the rolling elements precisely at constant speeds. As the bearing is designed without integrated sealing washers, it can be integrated directly into enclosed housings with an existing lubrication circuit. It is therefore particularly suitable for housing designs that supply the bearing with lubricant from the outside.
As an open rolling bearing, this model has no factory-fitted cover plates or sealing discs. This design minimises rotational resistance and allows for the unrestricted exchange of lubricants within the housing. An external housing seal is required to keep out dirt particles. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures that the bearing maintains a balanced operating clearance for standard fits and at uniform operating temperatures between -20 and +150 degrees. For the cylindrical bearing seat, the standard tolerance class P0 in accordance with current industry standards is sufficient.
With an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 100 mm and a width of 18 mm, the bearing has standardised key dimensions. These dimensions are crucial for ensuring a precise fit when designing the housing and shaft. The outer ring has no flange or groove, which means the bearing can be fitted flush into cylindrical bores.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated seals or cover plates. Grease or lubricating oil can reach the balls and raceways unhindered, which reduces friction compared with bearings that have contact seals. However, this design requires the bearing housing to be sealed externally to prevent lubricant from escaping and contaminants from entering the bearing element.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the inner and outer rings and the balls when the bearing is unmounted. This clearance compensates for the slight narrowing of the raceways when the bearing is pressed onto the shaft. It is suitable for conventional operating temperatures and standard fits in general mechanical engineering.
The permissible operating range is from -20 to +150 degrees. The thermal stability is due to the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel used and the robust sheet steel cage. To ensure trouble-free operation, the externally supplied lubricant must be suited to these thermal requirements.
The model is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to international standard class ABEC 1. This standard level of accuracy ensures consistent dimensional stability in terms of concentricity and diameter dimensions. It meets the requirements of standard industrial drive systems and bearings without any special requirements for extreme precision.
As this is an open bearing, the user applies the lubricant during assembly or via the surrounding machinery system. Depending on the application, rolling-element bearing greases or industrial gear oils may be used. The open design allows for continuous relubrication and the regular replacement of the lubricant in the housing.
