The SKF 6011 deep groove ball bearing (55x90x18 mm) offers low frictional resistance for industrial applications with external lubrication.
The 6011 deep groove ball bearing is a versatile rolling bearing for industrial drives and general mechanical engineering. As a single-row bearing, it primarily accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and fitted with a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage, the SKF Explorer version is suitable for continuous industrial use. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Design engineers prefer to use this bearing in enclosed assemblies where an existing lubrication circuit supplies the rolling elements. Typical applications include enclosed units and gearboxes, as well as general mechanical engineering. As it does not feature contact seals, the bearing starts up with low friction and is suitable for medium to high speeds. The model covers a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
With a bore of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 18 mm, the roller bearing complies with standardised mounting dimensions. As this is an open design without sealing or cover rings, the installation location must be protected against dirt particles and require a regular supply of lubricant. The standard radial bearing clearance is matched to common shaft and housing fits. This makes the bearing suitable for applications with consistent operating temperatures and no thermal stresses.
The 6011 deep-groove ball bearing has an inside diameter of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width across flats of 18 mm. The cylindrical outer ring has a smooth finish, with no flange or groove. These standardised key dimensions enable precise fitting into specified bearing seats and housing bores in mechanical and plant engineering.
As an open roller bearing, this variant has neither sliding seals nor cover plates. This means that no additional friction losses are caused by sealing lips during operation, which facilitates high operating speeds. However, lubricants can escape unhindered to the outside and ambient media can enter the inside; for this reason, the bearing should operate in a sealed housing environment.
The standard radial bearing clearance corresponds to the standard operating clearance for single-row deep-groove ball bearings. It is dimensioned such that, after the bearing has been pressed onto the shaft and fitted into the housing bore, sufficient radial clearance remains. This design is suitable for standard applications with a balanced heat balance between the shaft and the housing.
The sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements spaced apart and prevents the balls from coming into contact with one another. It is characterised by its low weight combined with high strength. Thanks to the open cage design, liquid lubricating oil or grease can reach the raceways unhindered, which aids heat dissipation during operation.
The roller bearing is designed for use at ambient temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within this temperature range, the components made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and shape. The actual limit value must always take into account the lubricant used.
Owing to the deep raceways in the inner and outer rings, the single-row bearing can accommodate radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. As this is a general-purpose rolling bearing, it is suitable for rotating shafts subjected to combined loads, as is commonly the case in general mechanical engineering.
