The SKF 6006-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 30x55x13 mm and featuring a ground seal on both sides, offers protection against contamination.
The 6006-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel in the SKF Explorer design. The design primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Thanks to its manufacture to the higher tolerance class P6 (or ABEC 3), the bearing has low dimensional and running tolerances. It is suitable for precisely guided shafts and runs with low vibration in enclosed assemblies.
Typical applications for this rolling bearing include rotating shaft assemblies subject to combined loads. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage, the bearing guides the rolling elements precisely within the raceways, even at varying speeds. The design is rated for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +120 degrees. Designs benefit particularly from this size where protection against moisture or dust particles from the environment is required.
The two sliding seal discs rest elastically against the inner ring shoulders. This design protects against the ingress of contaminants and retains the lubricant inside the bearing. Compared with open bearings, this reduces maintenance requirements during operation. Together with the standard radial bearing clearance, the 2RS1 seal provides a compact solution for demanding environmental conditions.
The bearing has a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 55 mm and a total width of 13 mm. It is designed as a single-row bearing with a cylindrical bore for suitable shaft seats.
The designation 2RS1 indicates sliding contact seals fitted on both sides. The sealing lips rest against the inner ring and effectively seal the rolling element chamber against dust and moisture.
Tolerance class P6, also known as ABEC 3, defines tighter tolerance limits for dimensional and concentricity accuracy compared with the standard tolerance. This promotes precise shaft guidance and smooth running when higher accuracy requirements apply.
The permissible operating range is from -20 to +120 degrees. The limits are largely determined by the material properties of the seals and the lubricant specification.
This model has the standard radial bearing clearance. This design is suitable for standard fit conditions on the shaft and housing at normal operating temperatures.
A sheet steel cage is used inside. It keeps the balls evenly spaced and withstands mechanical stresses within the specified temperature range.
