The SKF 16019 deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 95x145x16 mm, offers a narrow design for radial loads where axial installation space is limited.
The SKF 16019 single-row deep groove ball bearing is designed to support radial forces and, thanks to its narrow design, is suitable for compact constructions. With an inside diameter of 95 mm and an outside diameter of 145 mm, the bearing width is just 16 mm. Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel in the SKF Explorer design, a robust sheet-steel cage guides the rolling elements. This open-type bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
Design engineers prefer to use this bearing for larger shaft diameters when only narrow installation spaces are available in both the radial and axial directions. The rolling bearing is used in mechanical engineering, in gearboxes and in drivetrains with an external lubrication supply. As there are no integrated seals, the component can be operated with low friction and is suitable for oil-lubricated systems or housing designs that already feature on-site sealing elements.
The bearing features tighter dimensional accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P6, whilst its running accuracy corresponds to standard class PN. This design makes it easier to maintain defined fit conditions on the shaft and housing. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance, the design offers a balanced operating clearance under normal thermal conditions. As the outer ring has neither a flange nor a groove, the bearing can be easily fitted into through cylindrical housing bores.
The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 95 mm, an external diameter of 145 mm and a width of 16 mm. Thanks to this narrow cross-section, this design is suitable for applications involving large shaft diameters where installation space is severely limited in the width direction.
An open roller bearing has no integrated seals or cover plates, which means that friction is lower than with sliding seals. It can be easily integrated into existing oil circulation systems or manually relubricated housing systems, but requires external protection against the ingress of dirt.
The component is fitted with a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage. This guides the rolling elements precisely within the raceways, keeps the component’s own weight low and withstands the mechanical stresses encountered during operation within the specified temperature range.
The design, which uses standard roller bearing steel with a sheet steel cage, allows for an operating range of -20 to +120 degrees. In open systems, the actual operating limit is determined by the thermal resistance of the externally applied lubricant.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard factory-set clearance between the balls and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. It compensates for temperature-induced expansion under normal operating conditions and prevents unwanted distortion of the rolling bearing after it has been pressed onto the shaft.
