The 6044 -MA-C3 deep groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with a 220 mm bore, solid brass cage and C3 clearance, offers high thermal stability in heavy-duty applications.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 6044 -MA-C3 from FAG Wälzlager is designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined radial and axial loads. With key dimensions of 220 mm inner diameter, 340 mm outer diameter and 56 mm width, the design can withstand considerable forces. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6, the open bearing operates within a wide temperature range from -30 to +200 degrees.
Large shaft diameters in industrial applications require robust bearing arrangements. The bearing accommodates radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. As it is an open bearing without integrated seals, it can be flexibly connected to existing lubrication circuits using oil or grease, provided that the housing is sealed against the environment.
The -MA version features a solid brass cage with external guidance, which is more resistant to vibrations, accelerations and high temperatures than standard sheet metal cages. The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. This increased operating clearance compensates for thermal expansion at operating temperatures of up to +200 degrees or tight fits on the shaft and housing, without the bearing becoming stressed.
With a bore diameter of 220 mm, an outside diameter of 340 mm and a width of 56 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions of the 6044 series. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The abbreviation MA refers to a solid brass cage that is guided along the outer ring. This external guidance provides the cage with high stability under severe vibrations or fluctuating speeds, and allows it to be used in demanding conditions.
The designation C3 indicates increased radial bearing clearance in the initial state. If temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or if tight fits are selected, the material expands. The C3 clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from seizing at operating temperatures of up to +200 degrees.
As an open roller bearing without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing requires external lubrication via the housing system. Depending on the operating conditions and speed, either oil lubrication or lubrication with roller bearing grease may be used. The housing acts as a seal against dirt and retains the lubricant.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +200 degrees. The heat resistance of the standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and the brass cage mean that the bearing can also be used in areas of the plant subject to high thermal stress.
Manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 or PN, this version complies with the ABEC 1 classification. This precision class meets the typical requirements of general drive and mechanical engineering.
