The SKF 6413 deep groove ball bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing measuring 65 × 160 × 37 mm, designed for high radial and axial loads.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 6413 from SKF primarily absorbs radial forces whilst also supporting axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, the component features a robust design with an inner diameter of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. Together with the sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance, the bearing is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications involving combined load conditions.
The bearing is designed for applications in mechanical and plant engineering where high radial forces are combined with axial forces on both sides. Due to its open design without integrated sealing washers, the rolling bearing can be integrated directly into a customer-supplied lubrication system using oil or grease. The permissible temperature range extends from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius, meaning the bearing meets the thermal requirements for normal operation.
The open design allows unhindered access of the lubricant to the raceways and rolling elements. As no sliding seals are fitted, lower frictional resistance occurs during operation. The rolling bearing complies with standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and has a cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove. To ensure correct operation, a suitable housing seal must be fitted to prevent the ingress of dirt particles and to retain the lubricant within the bearing area.
The component has a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. These dimensions correspond to the metric standard series for single-row radial deep-groove ball bearings. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the internal clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is in its unassembled state. This value represents the standard design and is intended for typical operating temperatures and standard fits on the shaft and housing, without any impermissible stresses occurring during operation.
An open design has no integrated cover plates or sealing discs. This allows lubricating oil or grease to circulate freely within the housing system. At the same time, there is no frictional resistance from contacting seals, which reduces heat build-up. In this case, the surrounding machine housing must provide the seal against dirt and moisture.
The bearing rings and rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures dimensional stability and strength under load. A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage is used to guide the rolling elements. The material can withstand operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As a radial deep-groove ball bearing, this model is primarily designed to accommodate high radial forces perpendicular to the shaft. Thanks to the deep grooves in the inner and outer rings, it also supports axial forces that can act in either direction along the shaft. This is a non-electrically insulated component.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (also known as PN or ABEC 1). This is the standard tolerance for rolling bearings in the industrial sector. It defines precise limit dimensions for the bore, outer diameter and radial runout, ensuring a precise fit on standard shafts available on the market.
