The FAG 62306 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing, measuring 30x72x27 mm and featuring seals on both sides, provides protection against radial loads.
The 62306 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, with dimensions of 30 mm bore, 72 mm outer diameter and 27 mm width. FAG manufactures this version with a sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance in tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. Thanks to the seals on both sides, the component protects the rolling element chamber from the ingress of dirt and moisture. The wider special design is primarily intended to provide radial load-carrying capacity in compact shaft mounting arrangements.
This deep-groove ball bearing is designed for bearing arrangements subject to predominantly radial loads and moderate axial forces in both directions. The 2RSR sealing lips, which seal on both sides, prove their worth in dusty or damp operating environments. Compared with narrower standard bearings, the 27 mm width provides an increased contact area on the shaft. The permissible temperature range extends from -20 to +100 degrees Celsius and meets the requirements of common industrial applications.
The designation 2RSR stands for double-sided, sliding contact seals. These sealing lips lie directly against the inner ring and help to keep out particles and splash water. At the same time, they help to retain the lubricant within the bearing housing. The standard radial bearing clearance is designed for standard shaft and housing fits. Before installation, it is advisable to check the mounting dimensions of 30 mm on the shaft and 72 mm in the housing bore.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 27 mm. Compared with conventional standard series, the 27 mm width provides a wider contact surface for the guide on the shaft.
The suffix 2RSR denotes sealing lips fitted on both sides that make contact with the inner ring. These lips shield the rolling elements from external contaminants and splash water. The bearing is therefore designed for use in environments subject to dirt or moisture.
This design features normal radial bearing clearance, also known as standard bearing clearance. This design is intended for typical operating temperatures and standard fits. Once fitted, the operating clearance remains within the defined tolerance range to ensure smooth running.
The permissible temperature range is between –20 and +100 degrees Celsius. These limits are determined by the material properties of the roller bearing steel and the materials used for the sealing lips. Within this range, the sealing performance and running characteristics are maintained.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the balls. This combination of materials ensures dimensional stability and wear resistance under the intended radial loads.
The deep-groove ball bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN in accordance with DIN and ISO, as well as ABEC 1. This standard tolerance meets the requirements for dimensional and concentricity accuracy in typical industrial and mechanical engineering applications.
