The FAG 6201 deep-groove ball bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing with an outer diameter of 32 mm and a width of 10 mm, designed for a wide range of industrial applications.
This radial ball bearing, made from standard bearing steel, primarily absorbs radial forces and, due to its design, can also withstand axial loads in both directions. The cylindrical bore allows the component to be mounted directly onto a suitable shaft. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly in the deep raceways and ensures smooth running during continuous operation.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians use this bearing when rotating machine parts need to be supported at moderate to higher speeds. It is primarily used in compact shaft arrangements subject to combined loads. As the design is rated for a temperature range of -30 to +120 °C, it effectively covers the typical operating conditions found in general mechanical and plant engineering.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated seals or cover plates. The lubricant, usually oil or grease, must therefore be supplied via the surrounding housing and protected from contamination by external seals. The component has the standard radial bearing clearance. This factory-set operating clearance between the balls and raceways is selected so that the fit runs without binding after being pressed onto the shaft.
A single-row radial ball bearing with an outer diameter of 32 mm and a width of 10 mm. Made from sturdy roller bearing steel, this bearing design accommodates radial loads as well as axial loads in both directions and features a cylindrical bore for direct shaft mounting.
The cage keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and reduces internal friction during rotation. It is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 °C and can withstand the usual dynamic loads encountered in continuous industrial use.
Open roller bearings do not have abiding sealing lips or cover plates, which minimises friction. They are suitable for installation spaces with a separate housing seal or for units with an external oil circuit, where the lubricant is intended to circulate freely through the bearing.
Radial bearing clearance refers to the radial play between the balls and the bearing rings when the bearing is in its unassembled state. Normal bearing clearance ensures that, once fitted with standard fits, the bearing operates smoothly under normal operating conditions without harmful preload.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 °C. This temperature range is sufficient for the vast majority of standard industrial drives, fans and gear stages in indoor and sheltered outdoor environments.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel. This material offers high hardness and dimensional stability, which contributes to the wear resistance and long service life of the raceways.
