The 6236-m deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with a brass cage and an outer diameter of 320 mm, provides stable guidance at operating temperatures of up to +200 °C.
The 6236-m deep groove ball bearing is an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel, designed to withstand high radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. Thanks to its cylindrical bore and a width of 52 mm, this model fits precisely into corresponding housing designs. FAG Wälzlager supplies this version ex-works with a standard radial clearance, which ensures smooth running under standard operating conditions.
This single-row rolling bearing is primarily used where high radial loads and moderate axial forces need to be accommodated. As it is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, it runs with low friction in an oil bath or in grease-lubricated housings. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +200 °C. This makes the component suitable for thermally demanding operating conditions, provided the bearing housing is externally enclosed.
The built-in brass cage guides the rolling elements precisely, even when strong vibrations or thermal stresses occur during operation. Compared to simple sheet metal cages, brass remains dimensionally stable and resilient under varying speeds. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance, the radial bearing play remains defined under normal operating conditions. The design must incorporate an external seal to minimise lubricant loss and prevent the ingress of contaminants.
With an outer diameter of 320 mm, a width of 52 mm and a brass cage, this model can withstand high radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. The standard roller bearing steel used makes it suitable for use in demanding industrial environments.
With an outside diameter of 320 mm and a width of 52 mm, the bearing has standardised main dimensions. The inner ring has a cylindrical bore for direct mounting on the shaft.
Open roller bearings do not have their own sealing rings and therefore generate minimal friction during operation. They are suitable for environments where an existing machine housing protects the bearing from dirt and allows lubrication via an oil bath or grease.
The specified operating range is between -30 and +200 °C. Thanks to the temperature-resistant brass cage and the heat-treated roller bearing steel, the design retains its dimensional stability even at elevated operating temperatures.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard internal clearance between the balls and raceways when the bearing is unmounted. This design is intended for standard fit conditions and average temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
As the unit is not pre-filled with grease at the factory, initial and subsequent lubrication is carried out via the surrounding system. Depending on the speed and load, standard industrial lubricating oils or roller bearing greases are used for this purpose.
