The FAG 6214 -2RSR-C3 deep groove ball bearing offers double-sided sealing protection and increased bearing clearance for shaft diameters of 70 mm with an external diameter of 125 mm.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 6214 -2RSR-C3 primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, this design features a robust sheet steel cage. Two sliding RSR sealing lips seal the interior on both sides against dirt particles and moisture. The component covers an operating temperature range of –20 to +100 degrees and operates to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This bearing type is suitable for shaft mountings where effective protection against contamination is required. The double-sided sliding seal ensures that the lubricant remains trapped inside the bearing whilst external particles are kept out. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in designs with a 70 mm shaft, where continuous operation under standard environmental conditions is required.
The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance compensates for thermal expansion when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation. Tight fits further reduce bearing clearance during installation. The combination of a contact seal and increased bearing clearance counteracts stress on the rolling elements, ensuring that rotational movement remains unimpeded even when the bearing heats up.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 70 mm, an outer diameter of 125 mm and a total width of 24 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The designation 2RSR refers to grinding sealing lips fitted on both sides, which sit tightly against the inner ring and protect the interior of the bearing. The abbreviation C3 indicates a radial clearance greater than the standard dimension, which compensates for thermal expansion or tight fits.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +100 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel used and the sealing material of the sliding seal lips are designed for this temperature range.
Both the raceways and the rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the balls.
The component complies with standard tolerance class P0 (also referred to as PN), which corresponds to the international standard ABEC 1. This precision class meets the requirements of general industrial and mechanical engineering for cylindrical bearing seats.
