Compact deep-groove ball bearing 609-RSR from FAG Wälzlager with a 9 mm bore, 24 mm outer diameter and a single-sided seal for space-saving designs.
The 609-RSR deep groove ball bearing from FAG is a single-row radial ball bearing designed to accommodate radial forces and moderate axial loads. With compact main dimensions of 9 mm inner diameter and 24 mm outer diameter, and a width of 7 mm, this design is used in assemblies with limited installation space. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, a sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep raceways. The manufacturing accuracy corresponds to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians use this design primarily in compact rotary and drive units with limited installation space. Thanks to the combination of compact dimensions and radial load capacity, the bearing is suitable for shafts with a diameter of 9 mm. With a permissible operating temperature range of –30 to +100 degrees Celsius, the rolling bearing is designed for industrial environments within normal thermal conditions.
The RSR version features a single-sided sliding seal that protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dirt and dust. The opposite side remains open, which allows lubricant to enter when the bearing is lubricated from the housing side. When selecting a bearing, in addition to the standard radial clearance, the cylindrical outer ring without a groove or flange also plays an important role in ensuring a precise fit within the housing bore.
With a bore diameter of 9 mm, an outside diameter of 24 mm and a width of 7 mm, the bearing has standardised key dimensions. These dimensions allow for direct installation into precision-machined bearing seats on shafts and in housing bores.
The suffix RSR denotes a single-sided, contact or sliding seal. It seals the gap between the inner and outer rings on one end against particles, whilst the open opposite side remains accessible for lubricant.
This roller bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This design is suitable for conventional operating conditions and standard fit combinations where there are no unusual temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
The roller bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +100 degrees Celsius. This temperature range covers a wide variety of industrial operating conditions and is determined by the materials used – steel and the seal.
Bearing rings and rolling elements are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. A sheet steel cage ensures that the rolling elements are guided and spaced evenly.
The deep-groove ball bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds internationally to the ABEC 1 classification. This is the standard accuracy class for standard applications in general mechanical engineering.
