The FAG 4216 -B-TVH double-row deep groove ball bearing, with an 80 mm bore and a polyamide cage, provides a robust bearing solution for industrial shaft designs.
The FAG 4216 -B-TVH double-row deep groove ball bearing accommodates radial loads as well as axial loads on both sides. Thanks to its two rows of balls, the design can withstand greater forces than single-row variants of the same dimensions. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6. In the open version, the unit operates without sliding seals, which keeps the frictional torque low during operation.
This rolling bearing is primarily used where radial forces exceed the load capacity of single-row bearings and the installation space is limited to a width of 33 mm. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads. As the bearing is of open design, installation requires a clean housing environment or external housing seals to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes the version with a polyamide cage, which keeps the rolling elements spaced apart. This material reduces the weight of the rotating components and promotes smooth running with low noise levels. When designing the application, the permissible temperature range of -30 °C to +120 °C must be taken into account, as polyamide is more sensitive to extreme sustained temperatures than metal cages.
The dimensions are 80 mm internal diameter, 140 mm external diameter and 33 mm width. The cylindrical outer ring has neither a groove nor a flange, which makes it easier to fit into standardised housing bores.
The suffix TVH denotes a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its elastic properties, low mass and quiet operation. It is suitable for use in a temperature range between -30 °C and +120 °C.
The standard radial bearing clearance complies with the standard for normal operating temperatures and typical fit specifications on the shaft and housing. This design is intended for applications where no increased operating clearance due to thermal effects is required.
Two parallel rows of balls in separate raceways enable the bearing to withstand higher radial loads than single-row bearings of the same main dimensions. Furthermore, this design is suitable for withstanding axial forces in both directions.
As the bearing is designed without integrated seals, the lubricant is selected to suit the operating conditions of the entire system. Lubrication is provided via the surrounding housing, either by grease or by continuous oil circulation.
The manufacture complies with standard tolerance class P0 (equivalent to PN according to DIN and ABEC 1). This tolerance class meets the standardised requirements in mechanical engineering for typical speeds and bearing seats.
